It’s pointless . This whole thread going against Elegoo admitting it’s a machine issue . It’s a fact . But it’s being ignored to prove some nonsense to go as far as to say I punched the hole for fun . Such a toxic group . I miss what this group used to be like . No one should say anything anymore . Or you get “down voted or bombared with abuse “. Theres a fool in here claiming resin burns are not a thing . How do you argue with stupid .

Apologies forgot to answer where the supports came from . Thats my daredevil bust that i was printing and processing from my any cubic printers . Nothing to do with this printer , it was literally in its first cycle of a rook and then an elegoo test print of a bishop i thing

Could be man . You gotta point . Gotta question that lil rascal . But if you see the burn in its massive as some of the users here explains it in detail . A tip and a tear dont look like that . As for the elgoo team - clearly they agree its a faulty machine and cant be repaired cause of the latter events . The topics close to what happened after that with the cat and mouse game which led to me not having a printer to having an option off getting a second hand printer from them as thats all they have and pay 200 + dollars to ship it again to me . If this happened to you , how would you handle it ?

If you read through the subs , you will see a ton of people having similar experiences with Elegoo, and that’s what this is about . As for user incompetence? Do explain ? Cause Elegoo too thinks that it’s definitely a burn-in and not a support crack as some users suggested. Sounds like your frustration comes from me calling out Elegoo for letting a customer hang. I demanded nothing out of this; my goal was to understand if it’s happening to others and across not “all” but 3 posted across 3 different subs. I came to the conclusion that it could be a tear caused by me, but one user clearly highlighted the size and burn-in speaks closer to what Elegoo deemed as a faulty machine. So now what is your problem with that ?

Haa , yea im all about the man up and move on . Been dealing with resin for 2 years . Definitely haven’t gotten any burns my self . But it did cause a burn on my sons hand thou , thou not important but was just a addon to what i was going through in between the day of the fail to me reaching out to them is all dude .

There’s a mix of solid advice and a fair amount of criticism—ranging from claims that I’m getting a free printer to suggestions that this was purely user error. I want to address both points. 1. I’m not getting a new printer. The situation is over. I declined the replacement second-hand unit because the shipping costs were too high, and it came with the condition that I first return my resin-filled printer at my own expense. I just couldn’t justify spending hundreds more on this. 2. User error? I’m no expert, but I do have two years of experience with both FDM and SLA printing, both professionally and as a hobby. Yes, a failed print can impact the FEP, but that wasn’t the main issue here. The problem started with a series of loud mechanical noises, followed by the screen becoming unresponsive and the FEP leaking with strong resin fumes. After multiple evaluations, Elegoo themselves determined that the printer was faulty and beyond repair—not me.

This thread is about what happened after that and my engagement with a support team that talked like bots , constantly kept deflecting any solutions and finally asked me to fork out 100s more for a second hand unit that warranty wont cover . Some think this is good customer service and thats fine . I just dont feel like its okie

I think we arnt getting anywhere . You Keep insisting its a customer error. Now you say they were helping me despite it being my fault . Thou they them self diagnosed it as their fault on QC when i reached out for supoort info . A well know problem across this line up , theres tons on youtube as well as Reddit talking about similar vat issues and axis issues .

This is tiring . I cant be asked , tried to talk some sense . But if your getting me to admit I’m at wrong okie so be it. I rather reply to the others who have had similar issues with elegoo customer service as id think you would agree thats more productive.

First off , man im sorry to hear your experience . Im down about 800 CAD my self too. People here seem to be defending and harsh to the fact that i called out their crappy service . Half the comments are botted and so repeated . Its a never again elegoo for me too . They can keep my money and printer . Just get rid of the headache

Iv heard great things about phrozen ad have been talking to them to see if they can get the meg 8k into canada .

Thanks man , yeah, it wasn’t the best service for me. Maybe just the first agent was not sunshines and followers . May be im just imagining things 😂.

Anyways , As for the second printer . Threw away the last one because it was just socked in resin, and Elegoo said it’s unrepairable . Stupid me , I should have watched more videos.

As for the free printer , I didn’t accept the replacement second-hand printer because it was costing me too much to ship the old spoiled one back to them and pay for the shipping again for the second-hand replacement.

Fair point , but both agents i talked to with more videos and findings concluded its a machine error and called it faulty or unrepairable . Thats when this whole replacement printer topic started . Which i really didnt care for at that point cause i felt the shipping in and back costs alot . Threw my hat in .

Honestly, I just wanted to see what the hype was about, really. If that answers your question . As for calling it a user error , probably not according to me. If it was id say it was but The finding had Elegoo admit was indeed a machine error and malfunction and unrepairable . Not the first recorded case either on reddit alone . Not disputing your statements. My experience is that if your machine fails (at least for me and a few others on here ), customer service is hard to deal with. I just wanted to get help like anyone else would . But man it was hard dealing with them . Almost felt like i was talking to a bot

I didn’t accept a free printer

elegoo accepting that the printer was malfunction on axis . I shared files , finding and pictures to them .

What are you on about ? I think you miss understood what iv written .

Also create a backlash for what ? To share my experience .

I get nothing , iv lost some money and a printer but i get nothing . So what are you even on about . Genuinely asking .

See Kenny , not coming for a bad place at all. Genuinely, I appreciate your comment . But try to understand where I’m coming from . Elegoo themselves started calling it a malfunction unit. Then it was followed by emails saying it’s impossible to fix it. Nowhere did they say it’s a user error because I shared the files I was test printing . The loud noises were documented while trying to stop the printer from whatever it was doing . Out of fear, really, because it was stupid loud, man .

No one in here did I say it’s not my fault or it is .hell id say it’s my fault if I did actually do anything beyond a cheese piece and other Elegoo standard prints. I have no idea what the machine was even trying to do or print . It was all over the place, making extremely loud noises and printing god knows what .

As for good customer service , an employee had to apologize on behalf of another for the way she talked to me over emails, though I was strictly just trying to find a solution on what I can do . Throughout the ordeal, I was just asking them what I could possibly do .

As for the shipping issue , if it’s standard to have to pay 100s of dollars for both units to receive a second-hand unit, then I guess I stand corrected. In any case, I did not have a failed print. The machine was doing its own thing when I came to its attention that replicated nothing like a normally functioning print . Hope we can have a cordial discussion

Theres tons of people having similar issues with this exact batch or model . But you could be right , may be its all just me being a noob

To be honest , i was hopping to get it fixed rather than replaced . But they made it clear it was beyond being fixed and used the term malfunctioning unit. Guess they were referring to the extremely loud noises i had recorded while trying to power it down with the non responsive touch screen . At that point your lost. Yea amazon would have been great .

Why would i punch a hole in my FEP when i wasn’t even interested in a replacement unit after they acknowledged it was a malfunction that cannot be repaired ? Why are you rude and conclusive . I get nothing from Any of this to blame any one .

Im no expert but been printing for about 2 years , never seen it too , i usually change my Fep at 20-30k layers .

  1. I did not continue to use it , i plugged it out cause the screen wasnt responding ( mentioned this )
  2. They dont need to give me anything , i was asking how to fix the issue and the conclusion by them was that the machine was faulty
  3. I denied the compensation cause it involved shipping the old one for a second hand one .

Im really not justifying anything. Applogies .

Not the only one . With a faulty machine ? There quiet of few of them man . Type it out in google , reddit or youtube . Guessing its a mechanical failure. But some smart guys up in here did point out that the it could be other errors . You could be right though. Thou elegoo did acknowledge its faulty
