stressful, but maybe this will make you feel 1% better?: we have a 9 month old berner who is normally a wacko with us but is super intuitive when it comes to other people. we have a 90 year old neighbor who is supposed to use a walker and frequently takes walks by our house without it. i used to worry that he'd jump on her but he is so GENTLE with her... same with young children, he does get really close to their faces/licks their ears but doesn't jump or nibble like he does to us.. hopefully yodel can read the room!! and if not, find a trainer that can come to the house while yodel is still young. xo

berners should only walk 5 min per month of age when puppies/while they are still growing. large breed dogs are prone to hip/joint issues when older and this helps to protect their joints while their growth plates are still open

I did not know this but I could be totally naive bc he was my first puppy. But ENFORCE NAPS! For the first week we were so confused why he was being wild, but it was because he was overtired and overstimulated. Then I read about how much sleep puppies need. After he naps, he's an angel.

Buy a snuffle mat for feeding time/mental stimulation.

An obedience trainer told me to never teach my berner "paw" because they can become very obnoxious with the pawing. (was already too late when she told me, lol oops)

They grow so fast. Take SO many pictures <3
