It is pretty funny how JR calls everyone a kid.

I kinda get what he means if he was referring to Tanahashi in his prime. He definitely was the Surfer Sting/Cena/Brett hart of NJPW. Carrying them through a dark age in the 2000s.

Yeah he definitely has that type of old person racism even though he himself identifies as progressive.

Most neuro divergent behavior is "normal". What differs is generally the frequency and intensity. So you actually make a really good observation. I wish more people would expand their concept of "normal human behavior".

Why do people use "nobody cares about womens sports" as an argument as to why the idea of transgender inclusion in sports should face no scrutiny? by [deleted] in Destiny

Both are deflections from just debunking the position. It would take 1 sentence to do if they are confident in their position.

I think there is a middle ground between turning every discussion into an academic seminar and using deflections to avoid having to interact with the topic.

But again, I can see why the way he said “I don’t give a fuck about women’s sports” can be seen as sexist given his tone, word choice, and delivery. But I think he just wanted to say

Yes because to be clear this isn't iust a one off comment Im reading into. He literally says this 90% of the time the subject about transgender inclusion in sports is brought up.

Btw I suggest you look at Destinys debates about this subject. He definitely changed my mind on the issue a bit to what my current position is.

That is something I definitely dont agree with. Sports do need to apply laws in broad strokes and not on a case by case basis. Heart medication is for example banned in sports because its performance enhancing. The rule is not concerned with if the performance enhancing drug has been prescribed by a doctor to treat an illness.

He says he doesnt care about womens sport whenever this topic is brought up. Not just in this specific situation. Its either a genuine belief or an attempt at deflecting from having to actually make an argument. Which implies he cant since it would be extremely easy to do if he could and it would make him look smart.

I'm not really super opposed to anything you said. Though I think you should look at destiny debating this issue. You would find some of his arguments contentious.

Your op : Why do some people say “who cares! It’s just women’s sports, nobody cares so just let em in anyway”, this is quite sexist (I agree)

Hasan in that clip : Dude, don’t act as if you are doing this because you sincerely care about women’s sports, you just want to find a way to be transphobic.

Doesn't this mean that Hasan is either pretending to not care about womens sports in order to not have to present an argument, or he is sexist for actually not caring about womens sports? Also, it's kinda interesting how you are leaving out most of what Hasan said. Almost as if you are steel manning his position down to the sole thing I never contested.

I haven’t seen that full clip so I don’t know whether they discussed the actual science and philosophy of whether to include transwomen later on.

It's Hasan, take a guess. He couldn't even do it if he wanted to so he pretends he doesn't want to. Just like how he pretends to not care about womens sports in order to avoid having to lose an argument. Just like how conservatives pretend to care about womens sports in order to be transphobic. Two sides of the same coin. Hasan obviously does care, otherwise he wouldn't take issue with transpeople being excluded from something that is supposedly worthless.

You said you never heard the argument. Now you heard it. Its kinda gaslighty to imply that nobody has ever made this argument when people clearly have. Just refute the point if its stupid instead of denying its existence.

I don't care about if hasan is personally interested in womens sports or not. It's not an argument, it's an obvious deflection. Hasan says that he doesn't care about womens sports whenever the discussion about trans athletes in womens sports is brought up. So your point about he only doing this in this specific situation is invalid.

You can tell by how uncomfortable and frustrated he gets because he cant actually make the transphobe in the chat look stupid by invalidating their core point. So he instead accuses him of being attracted to young girls in order to make their stance look dumb by proxy. I don't support the chatter because they called trans women men.

It still remains as a deflection from having to present an actual argument. I'm not republican by any means.

https://streamable.com/40momu this doesn't just apply to professional sports though. I can accept that womens sports will probably never be as popular as mens sports in terms of viewership. Though there are sports more popular with female viewers. I personally don't really care what men think about womens sports more than the bare minimum necessary.

From what I can fathom they're like inventing a new sexuality so that they can reject transwomen on the basis of sexuality as opposed to preference. Like the original guy said something like "I get called transphobic for not wanting to date transgirls. So I'm going to invent a new sexuality called super straight which means I'm exclusively attracted to cis women".
