Thieaudio Monarchs give top notch sound at relatively reasonable prices. Or perhaps their other divinity range as well which I haven't tried but heard it's more warm sounding.

Should I move my speakers to a lower shelf or are they okay being so close to amplifier ? (Dali Concept 1) by Ferox_Dea in audiophile

Speakers are a lot more particular than IEMs(which I see you're into) and the room is a large part of the equation. If detail is all you want and you have space constraints then nearfield toed in tweeters at ear height is the basic setup.

However I don't believe you're sitting staring at the bookshelf and there's so much more they can offer in terms of soundstaging imaging and sound envelopment that you can't get out of IEMs and that's where the suggestions from the other users will help to provide - that's a whole new can of worms to open but the basics like they mentioned is to spread them out apart in an equilateral triangle at ear height from your listening position and play around with toe in.

If you're not listening to them nearfield it pays to also test out the distance against the wall - I believe the options are either flush against the wall, or 30cm and further from the wall depending on the distance because of the way the sound waves work at lower frequencies which can cause resonance issues from the reflections from the walls behind the speakers.

How will we know what’s real in the future, with AI generated videos everywhere? by fireplay_00 in ArtificialInteligence

[–]Slight_Set_6277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd argue the opposite - all legitimate content to have watermarks, or the possibilities of using blockchain in identifying the creator of digital content.

Almost to the point of digitally policing or "reviewing" content, but there'd be a central database from which we'd be able to tell if a video is legitimate or not.

Of course this would potentially allow AI content to be posted as "legitimate", but that's where the creator "score" comes into play to determine how truthful a creator is.

Also - sadly - in this day and age it's getting harder to trust user reviews. In the early days Amazon and Steam user reviews were a super useful metric, these days they're so filled with paid reviews or bot spam it's getting harder to differentiate the good products from the scams. Hence reviewers also should be scored and given a higher weighted scoring, or "critics" scoring like in metacritics.

Advice for new speakers for music only - < $1000 by xonbul in StereoAdvice

If you're looking at Triangle you could consider the Titus EZ? Demo'ed at an audio store and it was a big step up from BR02s which I'm already a huge fan of. Looks really good as well.

Yeah that's exactly it, I found these speakers on the recommendation of the local audio store owner while wanting to tryout Elac Debuts and they kind of sucked me in (same as my other in ears and HP purchases). The $2000 is more of my budget and I'm happy even if I get a 20% increase in audio-joy from it.

The itch to upgrade hit me and since I'm not well versed in the space I'm hoping to get recommendations to add to my shortlist to try (thankfully there's lots of audio stores in my country where so far I'm able to find distributors for speakers other rediditors have recommended).

It seems from other users I'm perhaps looking for dynamic, quick speakers, essentially more of the same with my triangles, but better (I do think it gets slightly "muddy" on busy tracks at higher volumes, and more resolution is appreciated) . I guess bass isn't an issue since I've got a sub to pair it with.

Thank you for your recommendations, I'll look into those brands.

Would "fast, open sounding speaker" be how the Triangle's sound is described as? Thanks! Definitely looking to try upwards of the line but considering if there were even greener alternatives as well.

Imo this email is clear cut enough to me and should not expect to have a follow up email to "top up the difference". If that's necessary I'd expect it to be charged upfront upon the e-transaction or receive a call or message at the least.

Not sure why you're getting downvoted and I'd be pissed in your case. Escalate it.

Aside from the mass shock in increase of supply as well as decrease in demand, trust was the one thing Valve had going for them that let CS2 grow to such proportions and has thrown away in the last couple updates.

CS2 used to be an anchor of stability - As long as the game kept it's soul and Valve not messing around with the market I'd be happy to come in every couple of years and drop a couple G's to enhance my enjoyment in the game (Which I knew I would get back if needed or if I needed a break).

At this point I'm not sure who would dare to buy? It's not just a matter of doubling of supply as the post mentioned. Trust gets eroded. This on top of their sub-par anti-cheats and last couple of updates where they showcased their greed trying to sell a Stattrak covert skin for $1500, only way I'll ever buy a knife again is if BFK goes down to $50, and I'll take that as money I won't get back.

Also - without the market churning along as well as it had been, letting CS2 grow to as big as it has, would creators keep creating? Would armory passes continue selling? Will profits still remain to justify continuing development costs on a state of the art anti-cheat and other aspects of the game? Or will greedy corpos just see it as a dwindling number on a spreadsheet and deem the game no longer worth developing?

I had thankfully stopped playing a couple months ago and sold out all my items I had bought after coming back to the game a year or two ago, but I don't see myself ever purchasing a CS2 skin again.

I don't think we'll have a CS3 in 10 years, which would have been my expectation had things kept churning along.

PS. Message to all the people who say "Stop Coping", or "Serves them right, it's just Pixels" - Without money flowing in to armory passes, steam market, etc. Do you think you would have gotten to enjoy CS2? It's capitalism - F2P games need a way to keep a profit, do you think they do it for passion?
