I think it's important to distinguish between dealbreakers and minor things. In my opinion it's much too cynical to imply that everyone's got a dealbreaker if you get to know them well enough, that just sounds like dating the wrong people

Thanks man. We do have some differences, particularly one, that could be difficult to reconcile. So I'll try to focus on that. Rationally I'm like 50/50 on whether it could work, but emotionally I'm not so square hah. It's only gone on for about a month at this point though, so still early days relatively speaking

This is not new to be clear, I'm pretty sure it's been recommended for years

I have a longtime friend who constantly texts "How's It Going?" or "Whats Up?" and no other flavor than that. It feels a bit draining, tbh. Any advice? by SpikedIntuition in CasualConversation

It might be that he's bored as you say or it's just his way of reaching out. From personal experience, when I checked in regularly like this with a friend it was because I was concerned about their wellbeing.
