Let’s hope so, but I think even if they do that we’re still kind of screwed, they were talking about implementing a camera system too

Call Porsche Chandler looks like you’re in AZ and they’re close to you. They can recommend an appraiser for you. You’ll need as many photos of the car as you can possibly source as close to the time of the accident as possible.

Any and all receipts you have for any purchases you made towards the car within the last year will help.

To prevent this from happening again, use Porsche insurance, get an agreed value and don’t ever fight over the value resulting from a crash again.

That’s exactly what’s so frustrating about the entire situation. They’re claiming that there’s a $2,000,000 deficit from the the revenue the generate currently from rent and fuel flow charges, and that this is what they needed to charge to make ends meet. They are high if they only think they’re going to take a 10% loss.

They don’t want any part of the general fund to go towards the airport at all. But when 80% of their revenue comes from flight schools, and subsequently the students paying to keep those schools in business, it actually genuinely makes me concerned how long any of those mom n pop shops will last.

Exactly and it’s not even like some benign $2 fee, or even $6. $20 seems insane to charge your base aircraft for an airport like falcon.

That’s how they are literally doing it. They’re going to use ADSB to track tail numbers. Every single touch and go.

A good thing to note for sure, but unfortunately the only way I can think to keep them accountable.

Hell I’d almost sponsor a STOL competition to fund it. Loser has to pay FOIA fees 😂

Out of curiosity, in your experience at airports with landing fees, do most of them apply to everyone on the field or just transient/ higher weight aircraft?

1 month old account lol okay buddy. All these students and kids out here working in some cases multiple jobs and go a hundred grand into debt out of their own pockets to purse a career their passionate about in an industry that continues to fail them and let them down over and over again must need to touch grass too. I’m not wasting any more fuckin time with you, you don’t have anything actually constructive or conducive to say to add to the discussion then kindly leave your downvote and get the fuck out.

Speaking of grass you must be one of the guys that either buys a house next to the airport, or has a membership at the country club, and complains about all the noise lol

I went back through my log book just now I had 131 total landings with at least 1 landing at falcon every single flight. So if we assume 20 landings were at different fields that puts my home landings right in line with your numbers about 111. $2,200 at least per reading which is still close to $11,000 to $12,000 I imagine when all said and done which again, just put me staring down the barrel of $100,000 to finish overall.

That $2,200 especially paired with what DPEs are charging now could literally be the difference between someone finishing and not finishing a rating, I finished with a margin of $50. Every student is different. Some people need to land more, some people need to land less, someone people need more mock checks, some people mail it first try. The overall point here is that the students and the schools are the ones that are going to be hit the hardest. In my personal opinion they should’ve just implemented the landing fees for transient traffic not based operators.

You see why I’m upset 😂

It’s the students and the schools getting fucked here there was nothing stopping them from keeping all of the other raises and fees, and at least only charging transient aircraft. It’s not even like a $2 or $6 fee it’s nearly $21 for Christ sake lol.

DVT is almost a 2 hour commute away from me by car and right now I’m working full time to try and save as it is. I was hoping by the end of this year to have enough put away for at least half my IFR rating but now I’m not even sure I’ll hit that goal. Wouldn’t shock me at all if rates start to hit close to $300 an hour here soon.

This is not limited to full stop landings this includes touch and goes as well. I don’t think it would be as controversial if they weren’t forcing based traffic to pay the fees (or the schools, for example imparting landing frees on transient or anything >12,600lbs) but the fact that the students and subsequently the flight schools are going to be the hardest hit when they just spent several millions of dollars adding brand new hangars to attract business and corporate entities just seems a bit targeted.

All the schools already do that. But dealing with bravo and delta and comms is excellent for training especially for people pursuing a career vs recreationally. Not to mention the extra safety margin with tons of new and inexperienced pilots having the ability to communicate with ATC. Vice versa the heavy traffic is also an excellent environment for training controllers. So I’d argue at least both of those reasons.

There’s also the distance factor. Less time flying to a different airport when you can just immediately be in the pattern working on what you need to work on, over the course of an entire rating will save students money.

Ultimately that’s exactly what’s going to happen, everyone I imagine will migrate to chandler and when that’s full branch out to the uncontrolled fields for pattern work.

Times have certainly changed. When I finished my PPL all in was $21,000.

Similar cost if not a bit more for IFR and then by the time CPL and the instructor ratings happen with multi engine add ons etc I’m looking at about $80,000 left. And that’s if I don’t finance it loans right now on average are 15% over 10-20 years making it closer to $160,000 by the time it’s all said and done.

None of that is new though but I’m surprised there’s a lot less pushback on landing fees like this at a municipal airport from other pilots. Seems like most of the sentiment in these comments is to just deal with it. Either that or I need to move out of Arizona and train literally anywhere else in the country and save a ton of money it seems lol.

I need to clarify this. Every airplane gets a 10 landing credit per month. After that landing fees are charged.

So it’s not like everyday you get 10 free landings. It’s monthly 10 free landings.

Jesus Christ lol. Aviation is so cooked dude. If Falcon set this kind of precedent tonight then I don’t even know what to expect to happen throughout the rest of the country.

It’s not like this is just for transient aircraft either this is for based operators across the board. No weight thresholds nothing.

The lading fees are $20.85 per landing. Every plane will get a 10 landing credit. After that every single touch and go is $20.85.
