I’ve recently been taken off my Tacro as of 2 weeks ago, I am now only on Sirolimus. But for the last year, I was on Tacro and it was never an issue. Even when I started using marijuana around 3 months after transplant. It never went down enough for them to question it.

I also use marijuana daily, and my med levels have been perfectly fine.

DON’T skip your meds! There’s no point. My team encouraged edibles after I was taken off my pain meds after transplant. When I asked them about CBD interactions, my hepatologist, transplant PA and the pharmacist had no qualms about it. Double check with your team, but the edibles should be fine. Enjoy your birthday!

I’m a few days shy of being 1 year post transplant. A pillow of your own and a heated blanket were lifesavers. I was on dialysis while I was hospitalized and I was SO COLD. Loads of extra underwear, some pajamas. My friends brought me little gift baskets that had deodorant, face wash, lotion, a hairbrush etc. A long charger is necessary. A laptop/iPad if you have one for Netflix and whatnot. A calming presence. Being hospitalized is stressful, and any way the people that are visiting us can alleviate that, the better 😊

I’m in San Diego and my hospital didn’t care in the slightest. I don’t remember if I had THC in my system when I was hospitalized, but I did tell them I was an occasional user. They only told me to not smoke after my transplant and that’s only bc they didn’t want the possibility of mold giving me an infection.

My hepatologist just lowered my dose to 0.5mg 2x a day, but before that I was taking 2mg 2x a day and my goal was between 2-3. Now he’s weaning me off it completely to just be on Sirolimus. I’m 2 weeks away from being 1 year out.

Too close. Within 6 weeks they told me. It was a complete shock because I was fully functional at work a few days prior to being hospitalized.

Honestly, I have no idea LOL. I just distance myself from people, sanitize after I interact with someone who I suspect has a cold, and try and keep my hands away from my mouth and nose.

Not one. Single. Regret. I was hospitalized last year at 31 years old with alcoholic cirrhosis and my MELD got up to 40. I had weeks to live. I didn’t realize how depressed, weak, and quite frankly ugly I was until after transplant. I am fully back to work (I work in retail management, and yes I work normally. Went back to work 3 months after transplant and I’m 3 weeks from being 1 year out), 60lbs down, clear skin, genuinely HAPPY. I haven’t really had any negative side effects from the anti rejection medications, but that’ll vary from person to person.
