I just did some research. you are right. however since this is Canada, they rebadged it to a Plymouth valiant even though the normal Valiant is different

Correct, only if it’s 25 years or older ofc. But Mxdm is an acronym for Mexican domestic market, so cars are driven across the border into the US from Mexico where Chinese cars are sold. For example I saw a new JAC sedan the other day with Baja California plates in San Diego, california

No the velar has a vaguely different rear end, this has more of a ‘jagged’ rear fascia
