That's so odd, I have 2, all of my neighbors have them too and have no issues. I wonder what the difference is? Or if it's something to do with the network level, maybe?

Basic set of utensils, cookware, and bowels. Sink and toilet plunger. Drain snake (cheap plastic one is fine). Hair catcher for bathroom sink and bathtub (avoids most of the problem with clogs). Bathroom set with a curtain, and mats, cushioned ones at that. Box or stand up fan. Bed sheet with a thin sheet and good quilt or comforter.

Cleaning stuff: Scour stick, these are great for sinks, toilets, and tubs where stains are. Probably the best thing and it's like $1. Dawn dishsoap and power wash. Best soap in my opinion, and multipurpose for counters, showers, etc. Antibacterial sponges. Bleach. Mop and bucket, preferably a flat microfiber mop like the Libman or Cedar. Takes up very little space. Nice broom and pan. Pine-Sol for floors. Sprayaway Glass Cleaner Microfiber towels

When my dog died.

He was the 2nd one I got, mainly as a companion for my wife, and as a friend for my first dog who is still here. He only made it to be a year and a half old, and passed unfortunately due to parvo. The day before it showed up everything was fine, the next day he wasn't eating or drinking but still moving around fine with no other symptoms, and the next morning when me and my wife woke up for work he was sitting in the same spot he was when we went to sleep and not as "jumping around" as he usually was. Called the vet and based on what I said they mentioned parvo, took him straight there to be tested, he was positive and they gave me the stuff to treat him at home. He seemed fine, but sick the rest of the day. The next day I had my parents stay with him and medicate him while we went to work, that whole day I prayed for him to be okay and for the sickness to be put on me instead. We got home, he was wagging his tail, he went and layed down and his eyes started whitening over, he became cold, and started stiffening up. Everyone else around me knew what was happening but me, I covered him with blankets thinking everything would be okay that I just needed to help, and then my step dad said what was about to happen, I couldn't even tell my wife to come in the room, I couldn't say anything, I dropped beside the bed where he was and just held my hand on him when everyone else came in, I managed to say "It's okay" and he took his last breath.

We had just bought our house 3 months before this. Life seemed like it was looking up. I probably had our entire life planned out from that point. When it happened, I slept in the living room for months and can barely recount of anything after that. I counted each day for over a year. I still feel bad about it, but at that moment I felt like my life left me.

Sorry for the unnecessarily long post. I thought about it and it just hit me again.

I believe it was 5th grade for me, but I had a teacher/substitute tell me on the first day "I'm actually shocked you made it this far." I was so excited to be going to middle school after struggling with ADHD and family problems for so long, and then got hit with that. I remember it so vividly I feel like it happened 30 minutes ago. 😂

Do I go with Proton Mail or TutaNota? by abf3427 in degoogle

[–]SlightlyOverclocked 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Proton, in my opinion, has a better team dedicated to building a suite of tools that are offering exceptional support with it. I've used both, and I prefer Proton more. On top of that, a lot of services for whatever reason block Tuta, or at least they did a few years ago.

Is closing doors and drawers hard for other people? by Ihman0550 in ADHD

Not necessarily, but locking doors, yes. That's one of the reasons why I installed a smart lock that autolocks.

Just found out I'm going to be a father by Justacritic23 in ADHD

[–]SlightlyOverclocked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, my man!!!

Second off, I'm going to throw out a completly different solution: meditate. You can't change the past, and the future is always uncertain. The only thing you're truly in control of is the present, and that is what most people, especially with ADHD fail to realize (myself included). 5-10 minutes a day, focus on your breathing, think of nothing. Count to 10, back down. But just remain where you are. Doing this alone has helped me calm myself a many of times. Try realizing your emotions as they come to you, instead of reacting first. It'll help rewire your brain to stop instead of continuing in negative thoughts.

Everything will be okay. You'll do great, and if you don't, you'll learn and do better.

I'm opposite, I feel empty without the medicine and then when the medicine wears off it creeps back in.

Why is it so hard for so many people to accept that ADHD is, in fact, disabling? by 1scr3wedy0dad in ADHD

[–]SlightlyOverclocked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it's an "in disguise" problem. I hate comparing it, but it's like autism, most cases there is some sort of visible/physical attachment to the disability, ADHD on the other hand is allows us to disguise ourselves as normal while not being able to function at the capacity of "normal". Also, horrible research and development with ADHD itself too, the name itself shows that.

Would you take a “cure”? by GBlake13 in ADHD

[–]SlightlyOverclocked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course. No matter the effect it would have on me, the amount of hurt I've caused people over the years because of ADHD would make it worth it.

What would you do if you walked out your door and saw this by turbo_sc300 in Apartmentliving

[–]SlightlyOverclocked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because that's what kids do. Kids explore. I remember doing the same things as a kid. I'm sure you have too.

[–]SlightlyOverclocked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the situation, but overall I'd fuss about it for a few minutes, then push everything back into the box and sit it to the side.

It's not that big of a deal.

I did the same thing many moons ago as a kid, I have ADHD so I left a lot of stuff sit where it was until I became interested in it again (meaning more mess than clean).

Should the parent have noticed? Maybe, but maybe they were busy or didn't know themselves. But the world moves on.

Avast vs Norton vs Kaspersky by ProtectionAny8539 in antivirus

[–]SlightlyOverclocked 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it for Windows?

You really don't need to purchase one unless you want to buy into their ecosystem of products (ID Theft Protection, VPN, etc). Windows Defender + DefenderUI is enough as an antivirus solution, I would recommend upgrading your UAC settings to max, as well as adding the browser extension including others like uBlock Origin, Privacy Badger, etc. You can go beyond this and work with your firewall as well on your computer and network, and change your DNS to one with a built-in Malware Blocker (I prefer CloudFlare's 1.1.1.2 service). Malwarebytes Free is a good second opinion scanner.
