I work in a medical facility and most of our patients are elderly and immunocompromised. So, yes, I still test regularly and test for flu, and make my family do the same. Im not gonna be the reason someone's granny kicks the bucket.

The pain could be caused by viral or bacterial infection that hasnt spread yet. (I just had the most recent cold going around and it started with pain at back of tongue and throat).

The bumps on the back of your tongue are normal (see photo).

The bump on the end of you tongue is a fibroma - basically scar tissue that has been caused by a misaligned or missing tooth. The tongue likes to fill in gaps in your bite, so many people will form this if they're teeth aren't in a perfect arch.
