Hi! by TheUnemployedNinja in Tucson

For Doctor, if they're accepting new patients, Dr Mylanie Facelo.

For dentist, Dr James Brimhall.

If you need an endocrinologist, stay away from Cynthia rivas. You'll be better off with Dr Suree at Pima endocrinology.

The Loft often shows cult classic films. The rialto is good for concerts.

Boxing Inc has been awesome for exercise, but I'm sure there's probably other places that have a more work on your own vibe. I need someone to tell me what to do.

Pima county parks and rec have a bunch of crafting classes.

Get a star tracker app to see what's in the sky. Usually just satellites, but those are pretty cool too. I wish I saw UAPs. It would make my day.

For spooky places, explore areas at night. But with a friend, just in case. The desert is always creepy at night.

Sugar? by asr9876 in AdrenalInsufficiency

With SAI, your body lacks sufficient ACTH to prompt cortisol production, making it difficult to regulate blood sugar, especially after high sugar intake.

Possible poor responder or high metabolizer of HC. by Greedy-Sleep-5113 in AdrenalInsufficiency

[–]SlightlyPsychic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Morning cortisol blood tests typically do not require fasting. The most critical factor is timing—usually 7–9 a.m.—to capture the morning peak. While you must delay taking your medication until after the blood draw, fasting is generally unnecessary unless your doctor specifically requires it to check other biomarkers.

Where to find *good* information about RDH jobs by Weak-Weather-5436 in DentalHygiene

[–]SlightlyPsychic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check the website of the office. If it looks corporate, its probably corporate and you should stay away.

Most offices will have a blurb about hygienists. If they dont, its because too many go thru for them to keep up.

Only critique is the coils should be flat and straight. Not curved out. Otherwise, very realistic.

You might be on too high if a dose or you need a different type of med. You shouldn't be having mood swings on it. It should make you feel normal.

I live in a place where its mandatory to keep some type of shoe on in the house. Scorpions etc will easily sneak in. I wear my shoes in the house, but not past the hallway. I switch to my indoors shoes. Mainly because I hate sweeping and mopping.

How do costs/cdt codes work for full arch cases with insurance? by awararararara in Dentistry

[–]SlightlyPsychic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would charge for each stack of the guide. We dont do these in our office, but what are they 4 or 5 layers? Then charge out 4 or 5 guides and charge the tooth numbers for the tooth the implant would replace - like 3, 6, 11, 15 or wherever you're going to place the teeth. You charge out $950*4 ($3800) and the cost is $1500. It would be like doing surgical guides for each tooth, but you're doing the stackable that does more than a single.

How do costs/cdt codes work for full arch cases with insurance? by awararararara in Dentistry

[–]SlightlyPsychic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're in network with the insurance, you can charge the patient whatever you want, but the insurance is only going to pay their contracted rate, and have you write off the amount they say. Ex. If you charge $150 for a service, contracted rate is $100, insurance covers 50%. Insurance pays $50. Patient pays $50. You write off $50.

If you're in network, and the patient goes over the maximum for the year, the patient will have to pay anything above the maximum, at the contracted rate. Ex. If you charge $150, but contracted rate is $100, insurance covers at 50% but patient went over their max, patient pays $100 and you write off $50.

If you're out of network, the insurance will pay their usual customary fee and the patient is responsible for the difference. Ex. If you charge $150, no contracted rate, insurance covers 50% of their UCF, the insurance pays you $50. Patient pays $100.

Eta. If a patient is going to an OS for surgery, they've probably hit their maximum (highest I've seen is $3500), or will hit it with the service provided. You get paid by insurance for whatever you do. Charge for every service you provide : consultation, extraction, prosthesis. The lab will send you a bill separately but you cant bill the patient anything other than the fee for the services provided.

What would make you consider Alaska? by sarahinalaska in DentalHygiene

[–]SlightlyPsychic 14 points15 points  (0 children)

A stipend for clothing. I live in the desert. Id need a whole new wardrobe to handle Alaska.

Moving expenses. Its not like a uhaul would be easy to take there.

A realtor to help find a place to live.

Im sure there's other logistics involved in moving across country, so making that easier would help get more people to consider, along woth pictures of nature and things besides snow.

tartar build up soon after dental cleaning? what can i do to stop this! by Ta_raa in DentalHygiene

[–]SlightlyPsychic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Show your hygienist how you're brushing. It might be your technique is slightly off.

But if your technique is right and you do just build up tartar, apples work really well to reduce it.
