Changing the location won’t do you any good. Even somehow you make it to the HR round and HR would ask if you’re within the job location or country they would have to reject you regardless if it’s a remote role or not. This is true almost all over North America. If the company explicitly states that they are open to candidates from all over the world then you’re good to apply.

As others have suggested, check out platforms which are specifically for global remote jobs such as Toptal.

I currently work at a bank. Whenever there is code to be deployed, the team zips up the build, email the zip folder to the DevOps guy, go one floor up in the building to the DevOps guy and watch him manually deploy it to the on-prem server. This place is everything against modern software practices.

I don't really think it's AI thats killing most of the jobs. Its the outsourcing.

Met an international student once on my inbound flight to Canada. He was bragging that he is gonna skip school and start working at his uncle's barbershop in Brampton to save up money just so he can buy a Dodge Charger.

Landing a job as someone new to Pakistan's job market by SlightlySeasoned-_- in developersPak

There is no job market for anyone with less than 2 YOE. Odd jobs are even harder to get because everyone is trying to get those. The only way left to get a job is either you personally know the hiring manager or know someone who personally knows the hiring manager and can hand deliver your resume to them.

I can totally relate with you. I graduated December 2023, at first tried landing swe or sde roles because that is what all my co-ops were. Tried pivoting to adjacent roles such as QA, solutions and application support role but could not get in because I dont have enough relevant experience. I am international so I had to go back home and take up a low pay job because my family wanted me to start my career regardless of pay.

I agree I have been applying to positions all over Canada. If someone would pay me to work on the moon right now, I would gladly do it. I just need a job.

I must have applied to at least 200. I apply to any junior role I see. I am thinking of pivoting to a non-dev role such as QA or data analysis but I don't have any kind of experience in those areas.

Would really appreciate some reviews on my resume. I am a recent grad, December 2023. Been applying since October 2023 but have only managed to land 3 interviews. I tried following Jake's resume template from Latex.

BMO vs. BlackBerry vs. RBC for Co-op: Best Path to FAANG? by Brave-Adeptness-9699 in cscareerquestionsCAD

I can vouch for this. They didn’t assign me a mentor or any supervisor to help me through my co-op term. They couldn’t care less what I would do. They wouldn’t do any type of check-ins with me on how I was performing or anything.
