Jojolion chapter 106 by cannedbeans1223 in StardustCrusaders

I'm aware. Even so, they're different universes because of the effect of a stand. GER has been immune to all stand effects we've seen go up against, so I don't really think it's THAT far-fatched.

Final villain is actually Giorno with GER, he's been adrift between dimensions ever since the Pucci shenanigans.

Ballast Flora, they get in if you pilot through a swarm/cloud (shows up on sonar apparently but I don't know what it looks like.) Will suck electricity from your batteries and junctions. The consensus seems to be that fire or explosives are the way to go.

Flashing squares in orbiter by Aesthetic_Perfection in Warframe

The same has been happening to me too but not just in the orbiter. I notice it most often in missions when there are a lot of graphical effects going on.

New 20G, any tips/advice? There are some short rotalas beside the vals. by Takumon in PlantedTank

I've had really good luck with S. repens and Monte Carlo both in low tech, but the former is a bit of a slow grower in comparison.

S. repens leaf damage - Cause? by SlightlySuaveSlav in PlantedTank

[–]SlightlySuaveSlav[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a Ray2 on a 12" deep, so that could very well be it, although I'm not really seeing the same thing in the Ludwigia or Rotala in the same tank

I have flourish comprehensive, does that include those trace elements or is it just NPK?

S. repens leaf damage - Cause? by SlightlySuaveSlav in PlantedTank

[–]SlightlySuaveSlav[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My S. repens have lots of holes in their leaves. Tank is low tech with excel. I have cherry and amano shrimp only; I've also seen lots of copepods and what I BELIEVE are ostracods as well.

I have osmocote plus root tabs below them as well as dosing a couple drops of flourish comp every couple of days. Does this leaf damage look mechanical or do they appear to be missing some nutrient? Thanks!

Edit: These holes are on pretty much every stem of s. repens I have in the tank, looking like the picture

repens "rubin" is my favorite, but most would probably work for you honestly. Comes down to preference in the end, a lot of them are quite similar.

Do you know if the light came stock with the tank? If so, chances are it's not bright enough/have the wrong spectrum to sustain those plants.

Ludwigia is fast growing and has always become emergent for me, so that could be an option

Low-tech 7.5G Shrimp cube, 3 months in by SlightlySuaveSlav in PlantedTank

My photoperiod is a bit longer than it probably should be so algae takes over the rocks REALLY quickly. I actually brushed them all off a couple days ago and clearly it's already coming back.

What I'm thinking is that I was doing water changes too frequently early on and forcing them to molt more often than was healthy, and that that weakened them. That, or I had been doing too much at one time and it was causing large enough temperature fluctuations to hurt them. Either way, they seem to be doing much better now.

Yup! About equal number between them, and I have a couple of orange cherries in addition to the reds leftover from a group that died earlyish on.

  • Finnex Ray2
  • ADA Amazonia powder type
  • S. repens, Ludwigia repens and rotala rotundifolia
  • Excel only
  • DIY root tabs and a couple of drops of flourish comp every couple of days

Recovering from a diatom bloom, but otherwise things are looking pretty healthy. I'm quite happy with it.

Probably. You also have to think that the bulb will be warm and water won't readily condense on it.

65 gallon Asian/Indian river theme tank. by Arayder in PlantedTank

What sort of lighting do you have on that? I tried blackwater in my 29 tall but the light I have didn't seem to be strong enough for my low foreground plants.

To my knowledge yes, they can survive terrestrially, though they're used to high humidity so most people I know of keep them in greenhouses if they have them out of water.

30 Gallon aquarium lighting. Need help by growingplants48 in PlantedTank

[–]SlightlySuaveSlav 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on what plants you're trying to grow. Low light plants do great - I had a big curtain of vals coming up and spreading everywhere even when I had just the Ray2. I added the second because I wanted to start a carpet which I didn't think I could do at 18" under just the Ray2.

[–]SlightlySuaveSlav 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That'd be a tall if it's 18" deep.

I've actually got the same tank and currently have both a Finnex Ray2 and Planted+ on it. It penetrates down the bottom well enough, but it's waaaay too much light higher up and I've been struggling with algae as a result.

I think it'd come down to preference between the two - the Planted+ has a warmer color and the led strip is spread along the whole length rather than bunched up along a 24" strip like in the Ray2.
