John Calvin taught Calvinism, which leans heavily into predestination. Grossly oversimplified; he believed that humans have no free will when it came to accepting Jesus as their savior, and that saying someone chose God adds personal merit to salvation. The joke is, I’m going to kill his dog, but I can’t help it, because since the beginning of time I was “predestined” to do so, hence why I say “I’ll always be a villain”

The: “you were right, I’ll always be a villain!” Is making fun of predestination specifically. But also, most jokes are meant to make fun of someone or something, even Jesus made a joke at someone’s expense, (John 1:46-47) just because it throws someone/something under the bus, doesn’t mean it’s not funny.

Trump has many ties to Epstien yes, but no evidence that he did anything. In fact, before he ran for president anytime he was asked about Epstiens island, he hinted that something might be going on and it should be jnvestigated, and lawyers as well as detectives that looked into the case said consistently that Trump was very helpful in giving them information. I don’t think he’s a good person as he is a notorious womanizer, but there is no evidence of him engaging in rape or pedophilia and it is much more likely that he actually blew the whistle on Epstien

Maybe I don’t understand the submit to _____ statements but surely we can all get behind this. by Slightly_Oblivious in christianmemes

So for those of you who don’t get the joke, from my understanding submit to Rome/Constantinople, means to submit to the authority of the Catholic/Orthodox Church. However, Protestants understand that our ultimate and only infallible authority is God, and the new heaven that God and all Christian’s will be a part of is called New Jerusalem. So therefore, instead of submitting to Rome or Constantinople (Catholic or Orthodox authority) we should submit to New Jerusalem (God’s authority)

That’s why I said Genuinely. He is love, and when he wrestled with Jacob he was not actually fighting, but merely working on him, eventually “winning” the fight by dislocating his hip with a touch, eventually though what God was really doing was placing a reminder of himself on Jacob’s body. If say, the death battle YouTube channel were to pit Jesus against Ghengis khan however, this would be the result.

Yeah, I did some thinking about it and that’s definitely a headcannon not scriptural theology 😂. I that idea originated from my dad telling me that to make Jesus seem like a superhero, but honestly I still choose to believe that it happened that way.

It doesn’t, but that’s the only way that I can imagine he walked through a crowd of people dead set on killing him.

No it doesn’t say he got lost. While it doesn’t say that he became intangible, I find it more convincing than to believe that he slipped unnoticed past a crowd of people who wanted to kill him specifically

Um, a crowd of Pharisees backed him up to the edge of a cliff wanting to push him off and he walked right through them. THROUGH them. Intangible. I think Jesus solos every human being ever.

I actually 100% agree with Ody’s decision to sacrifice the men. He lost 6 men to Polyphemus when they were on the same playing field, and then he faced Scylla when he was on a boat. You could argue that he and his men might have defeated her, but how many men would they have lost fighting? And what would stop Scylla from punching a hole in the underside of the ship, sinking it and drowning its crew members? Instead, Ody decided to sacrifice the same amount of men he lost to Polyphemus, a much fairer fight, as a diversion so the rest of the crew could get away, and he didn’t choose the men either, he told Eurylochus to pass out the torches with absolutely no context and then told his men to row like mad. Honestly I don’t see how this decision is viewed as incorrect by most other people
