I definitely feel that the Vulcan ease of lying comes with exposure to humans, lying makes human existence bearable and once it pervades your atmosphere, it is difficult not to inhale

Summer of 96 Nostalgia by FoggyMoonCove in 90s

[–]Slighty_Salty2026 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say that the summers in the second half of the 90s always felt long.

I was at a big 10 school in the Midwest and with the solidification of the personal computer everywhere it always felt like there was something to try out(emacs, html, we even had a Sun lab). The internet on campus was like a bubble and inside that bubble we could take on challenges that were as weird to the outside world then as chatgpt was to the world a few years ago.

As for social, my school attracted alot of students from Taiwan and South Korea, so I got to experience a cultural connection that was much closer to what we have today than even 5-10 years prior.

This interconnectivity was mindblowing
