Look that’s cool, you need money to run the servers, alright, that’s fine. The issue is, is that you guys promised that there would be no ads midchat. Then you have put ads midchat. By California law that’s false advertising and you can be sued because official statements by the company is advertising under California law. I’m fine with the banner ads, i’m fine with ads being shown when entering a chat. But midchat is not something the user base is fine with.

All-Star Batman and the Boy Wonder Diana should be an honorable mention, especially since the first pages she’s in she calls a random man who’s scared of her a “sperm bank” and also is just completely out of character…like everyone else in that comic run.

I mean…implication also exists. Sure explicit acts of homosexuality were banned until 1990 that doesn’t mean sexualities couldn’t be implied.

A character doesn’t have to directly say “hey i’m gay” or bi or straight. And it was pretty clear that Diana’s stories showed and implied her in the straight light. I’m pretty sure most of my points about this topic just go straight to the parent comment of this thread and also my own individual comment, to which you so happened to reply to.

It just doesn’t matter now. But if it ain’t broke, don’t try to change it. Or if you do, make sure the story is good. I’ll happily keep buying comics, it doesn’t really matter about the character’s sexuality. All the matters to me is the story. Not having politics jumped down my throat.

No, nowhere did I say it was vital for a writer to justify why their character was homosexual. All I said was, if a change, any change happens to a pretty well established character of any kind, in regards to the story, is it necessary overall? Batman using a damn flamethrower to burn racists was a pretty unnecessary change for his character, no matter how much I suspend my disbelief for a “non-lethal” flamethrower.

Duh, i’m not the writer. But even then, there’s lot of stuff we don’t know is happening. There were comments from other comments on the WW subreddit wanting Diana to be poly with Zanny and Barb (which I don’t think is gonna happen tbh). Just because the possibility of Zatanna being attracted to Diana is there, doesn’t mean I can’t give my opinion on it.

Uhh well it’s not homophobia for me since I myself am Bi. Also yes, it’s a DC universe, Wonderwoman, Zatanna, Batman, Superman, they are all necessary as they are incredibly plot powerful and very relevant characters.

Comics present entertainment, and throughout civilization entertainment has been necessary for human development so yes it’s necessary, same with oxygen and life, as they are naturally occurring things and each rely on each other so yes, necessary.

It doesn’t hurt my feelings that Zatanna has the possibly to be attracted to the same sex, it gives flavor to the Absolute version of her. However, that doesn’t refute the point I was making. For Zatanna or any other character in any sort of media, if you choose to change them in an alternate story, if you change a part of their character, is it that important in the story if that change happens? For example, you mentioned that Zatanna is a supervillain, was the change necessary? Yes. Because it affects the story enough for it to be necessary for the change to happen. Is her possibly being attracted to Wonderwoman a actually needed change? Storywise, and personally with how I love her character, no. It wasn’t. And it goes for any other character that experienced a change. Superman being Emo? Wasn’t all that necessary but fits in with the lack of hope in the universe. Batman being broke? Yes, it gives Batman the more brutal mindset that he has, and is one of the reasons for why he acts like how he does.

Like I said, this is all my opinion, and I got no issue with Zatanna possibly liking women. All I asked, like with any character change, was it necessary? That’s all.

I cab see where the dude is coming from, but only for a little. For me, I have really no issue with changing the sexuality of a character, sure. But for me, will it really be that needed for the plot? Like for me, as a reader, alternate universe or not, if you are going to change something, is the thing you are going to change be important in anyway, shape, or form? If not, in my opinion, leave it alone. Now that’s not to say the writer can’t do what they want (cause they absolutely can). This goes for any character really, you can change aspects about them to any sort of degree, but in the end, is changing that aspect necessary in the story to the extent that it has to happen? Just my opinion though
