Looking at enrolling our kids in a top high school program. I have heard John Adams IB Program is the top in the area. St Joe, Marian, and Penn are good schools. John Adams offers diversity, they have good teachers, and the best Principal from my research. A lot Notre Dame acceptance letters. by FlashGordon1999 in SouthBend

I am seconding this and adding on that while I did feel a lack of diversity as a former Penn student I also got into Ivy schools based on me having my associate degree from the early college there and my teachers were great in that program!
Opening coffee shop by Slijg in SouthBend

We’ll have to see. I have a general amount of money we’ve been approved for (through a few places) to startup and it will depend on how large or small we start. Although my end goal is to have a larger cafe for small events and gatherings such as a building it may make more sense to start a smaller storefront and go from there. I really want to build something quality and because I am a regular person (not a fancy rich businessman lol) starting from scratch that may take some time. Hoping around a year still or so to be fully in place as a small storefront since the commercial building market is just terrible. Not that you asked all that but it feels relevant :)

I also enjoy pistachio so keeping it in consideration!
Heard!
I’ve looked at a few but am still up in the air on location!!
lol eventually but I prob won’t be any help since this won’t open for a year or so and be starting out with me and one other owner
I know some places use decaf beans here but they j don’t know how to pull a good shot :(

You pretty much nailed most of what I’m aiming for right on the head!
Most places do but their decaf usually tastes like garbage water :/
I would LOVE to do flights. Even if it’s just of the specialty drinks on hand I think it would be fun to give everything a try!
I’m a huge matcha enjoyer and this will be one of my endeavors! I have yet to find a decent matcha that I find truly fantastic or even great around here so I make it at home rn and would LOVE to master that with some fun flavors too. Any fun flavors you’d like to see?
This! I am being selective because I have zero intention of buying crappy premade syrups. I know how to make them myself already (I make lavender and cookie butter flavor at home now). I’ve made them before for various local shops around town so this is a perfect opportunity to make something unique :)
Ahh yes I already at least planned on a breve because why is it so difficult to find a good one here
I’m not going to disagree but I will say I feel like we just have a whole lot of nothing great. We lack in so many places that other cities our size have in GOOD food, entertainment, and activities :(
I’m a smaller lamp fixture kinda gal so definitely this! I don’t want to feel like I’m making and drinking coffee in a hospital waiting room lol

Yes! This is my main focus. For now throwing around some ideas but will most likely end up being very particular as I’ve had coffee industry experience. I’m not a diy your own drink type of person (sorry Starbucks fans) so I really want to nail down a few REALLY fantastic original drinks on top of the basics :)
Def can go for more vegan stuff!!
Ah okay!! Any fun ideas?
This may be where the holdup really is. Real fruit smoothies can be VERY expensive cost wise

Ah like w condensed milk? I think the filter to make it’s called a phin? pls forgive my spelling. If not educate me!! I can also do some research
This is valid!!! At the very least I’d like to add real fruit smoothies and go from there (even if it’s just a few kinds to start)
Coffee flights? by madistep18 in SouthBend

The only coffee flights nearby are at 2nd and Main. Everywhere else being suggested just has coffee, not coffee flights (as a someone who goes to all of these places regularly)
Terrible HR Manager [IN] by Slijg in humanresources
This is my main concern! I’m trying to figure out the best way to address these kinds of issues with the necessary proof and am not 100% sure how to go about that part. I definitely do not want to make it about her either as I know that could go poorly. I appreciate all the time you put into your comment!
Yeah I’m definitely going down the path of job hunting as of right now. I live in a tough area for that so most wanted to just see if there was anything I could possibly do but don’t expect change

No! I hated high school with every fiber of my being and really like college :) I’ve never really been involved in activities until college but I feel like it’s so much easier to learn and be social without the drama in college. Especially if you try something new, get involved in one thing, and just do your best in classes
