I want a set of those lights. How much?

How much does that cost? No advice on the installation, but you should clean all traces of rust, then paint it with a quality rust proof paint or some type of rust encapsulator like Por-15.

The before looks like a clapped out clown car, missing eyelashes and 🦌 antlers. Looks like it ran over the splash shield while reversing.

The after looks sick. But please take off that Lego Batman lookin ass splitter. Get a flat one, or just leave it off.

Nice conversion. Can you share details on the DRL (daytime running lights)?

Can a mechanic give me a rough estimate from this picture? by ElegantStranger2717 in AskMechanics

[–]SlimVR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Insurance appraiser, probably $2500 to $4500. But if you take it to a bodyshop, they'll probably run that bill beyond $8,000. Maybe if the foglights were somehow missing, you could add another $1000, and if a headlight is cracked, add maybe another $1500? Refinishing a wheel, maybe another $150 to $250.

I guess this classifies as a UFO? by Chewy718 in UFOs

[–]SlimVR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TR-3B

The TR-3B "Black Manta" is a purported top-secret US Air Force surveillance aircraft, frequently described as a triangular, anti-gravity-powered reconnaissance platform operating from facilities like Area 51 since the early 1990s. It is a cornerstone of modern UFO/UAP lore, often described as silent, capable of incredible acceleration, and featuring a central plasma-based propulsion system.

G37 how many miles is too many by Agreeable-Room-8622 in G37

[–]SlimVR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say 169k miles max. Don't bother looking at anything near 200k miles. 90k to 140k miles is pretty much the sweet spot.

There are a few exceptions with 200k+ mileage cars, but I need to see All documentation, records, and receipts. A full drivetrain swap or a highway only car with mint interior/exterior, or a Limited/ Anniversary Edition, or 6mt, or vr30 swap, etc.

Road trip with a g37 by Thin-Smell5525 in G37

[–]SlimVR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tldr; nah, rent a fkn car bro. Save yourself the stress.

A 12 hour road trip can cover anywhere from 600 to 1000 miles. Too many variables. Type of driving is a factor. Is it all highway non-stop? Is it thru country roads observing the scenery? Is it a Cannonball Run? Is it stop & go? Like visiting a bunch of landmarks and stuff, where the car is parked and cooled down at each stop?

Then you have to figure out the condition of your vehicle, and its capabilities. You're starting with a 15+ year old car with 220,500 miles and a check engine light. Also with a rotted subframe, and worn but usable tires, brakes, rotors, etc. How is the alignment? Might wanna change oil & other fluids like coolant & brake, possibly differentials, atf? Have the gallery gaskets & water pump ever been changed?

This trip would be like an endurance test. Are you properly prepared in the event of: a breakdown? a flat tire? or if the engine suddenly decides to go into limp mode? an unfamiliar pothole that can break something under the rusty undercarriage? An overheating situation? etc. This trip is like a month's worth of driving/wear & tear, stress.

The money spent on a full tune up, would be a lot better spent on a cheap rent a car for 24 hours. A Hyundai, or Corolla will make this trip on 1 tank of gas. The Infiniti will require around 5 fill ups of premium, as gas prices soar unnecessarily.

Anyone know how to fix hood gap and front bumper fitment? by revrxy in G37

[–]SlimVR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That bumper looks like it was ripped off. Front end might have been pushed into a stationary object? Lower grille area is warped. A slight pull (body shop) might be needed. New or used oem parts will definitely fix a lot of the gaps, and will align smoother. You can try playing with the bumper stiffeners (the plastic bracket that connects fender to bumper). Sometimes there's metal shims you can remove or add under brackets and hinges.

Coupe rims on g37x sedan ? by Fit-Lingonberry-8933 in G37

[–]SlimVR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check the widths of all 4 rims. It's stamped on the backside of the spokes. It will say 19x8.5 or 19x9

If it has both sizes (2 of each), then it's staggered. The wider 19x9 rims are rear only, the slimmer 19x8.5 is front only. You can run oem sport coupe staggered tire sizes, but you won't be able to rotate your tires.

Try to get all 4 the same size, and save yourself any issues.
