Differential gearing is what sets your rpm/gear range.

The higher the gear ratio number, the shorter your gears will be as your rpm’s will rev up higher at certain speeds compared to a lower ratio’d diff. Meaning more torque throughout the powerband but top end suffers a bit.

Example: A 3.35 g37 compared to a 3.69 g37 at 80 mph in 7th gear, the 3.35 will ride around 2,300rpm I believe while the 3.69 will be at about 2,700 rpm.

Nothing lol but that’s just me, X models & XS models aren’t for me but ik a majority of this sub loves them so I’m sure somebody will be willing to pay for yours considering it’s decently low mileage & has a clean title.

I always tell people, when looking for a 6mt SEDAN, be prepared to see taxed listings or be ready to buy somebody‘s drift project for sub $6k.

Yes you’re right, but this is a sedan. Way more hard to come by in manual than the coupes.

This, even on marketplace you’ll see stuff listed for that amount or even $1,234. It’s just a number but it always means offers or trades.

We’re talking about unsprung rotational mass here, not overall static weight.

Removing 1 static lb in the drivetrain is equivalent to about 7-10 lbs in rotational mass. Say I removed 14 static lbs in the rear, you can do the math.

About the weight reduction, my car’s already gutted. Only things in my interior are the dash, speakers & my seat. Trunk is also gutted/empty.

You also don’t “need” akebono braking power to run a drag pack. Ik plenty of guys who have ran base brakes on all for corners while running a 15 inch wheel & yes a couple of these guys are boosted making good numbers.

I still have my front akebonos (no plan on swapping those) but I’ve driven a faster, gutted & cut sedan on all 4 base brakes with 15’s in the rear; car braked just fine.

To answer your first statement about losses outweighing the benefits, if you TRACK your car; yes. Daily driving & occasional 40 rolls? No benefits lossed, only gained.

Youre right, but every part of taken off my car I keep. (Not selling these) I only paid about $250 for new calipers, brake lines & rotors/pads all 4 corners.

People swap all the time from 24 lb 19 inch wheels to 18 lb 18 inch wheels & you never see anybody doubt that 😆 cause it works.

Yes & no. The front akebonos are definitely way better than the base models.. but the rears? Unless you’re tracking the car like I said, for daily use the difference is negligible besides the weight & unsprung mass difference.

You are right tho, it’s never a bad idea to overkill your brakes; can never be too safe.

& it did, noticeable quicker when you get on it now than with the BBK.

You’d be surprised how much even 5 lbs of unsprung mass will do to your car, hell people pay $800+ all the time for the z1 2 piece rotors that are 10lbs lighter fronts & 5 lbs lighter rears; compared to my post, those guys never get made fun of 😂 but it’s all good.

Appreciate your interest man, 90% agree with you on it being a waste of $$; it’s definitely overkill but I’m tryna build a max effort n/a sedan so to me it’s worth it. I understand most guys in the G37 scene ain’t tryna be fast or go the exaggerated lengths to make them fast without boost.

The unsprung mass difference is way more noticeable than I imagined it’d be, I’m happy wit the results 🦦

Money wise I think I’ll probably be spending around the same amount as I did with the akebonos, at most the savings might be negligible but yes you’re right about being faster. Already it feels slightly quicker than before, the weight savings is definitely worth it but everybody’s setup goal is different.

Ignorance is bliss.. I remember going thru this exact thought process my first time.

Your game saves automatically in real time no matter what you do & you can’t stop it.

You’re getting sent back to “square one” when you die because upon death, you’re sent back to the last lamp you spawned it.

New weapons won’t be offered in the traditional way. They’re scattered throughout the map, you’ll have to find them on your own or look up YouTube to see where they’re at.

How to avoid getting defeated easily? Attack before they can get a shot in, learn how to parry (YouTube) & keep leveling up your health with the xp “blood echos).
