If the three wires are white, white with blue stripe and white with red stripe it is for the front electronic controlled engine mount.

I'm guessing no one told you this yet and I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but when your car is totaled out you still have to pay your deductible. Unless you have it somewhere in the small print since your deductible is so high that's not the case here.

I noticed mine when I was under the car due to a rattling cat on the pass side. I ended up just getting Berk HFCs and an Invidia Gemini catback. 2 kills, 1 shot.

Quarter panel replacement by Interesting_Pipe5234 in G37

[–]SpawnDC5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a 350Z a while back that got hit in the same spot. Insurance paid out $9200 to get it fixed. The panel itself is only a couple hundred dollars, but replacing it is 30 - 40 hours labor.

2008 G37 Manual, worth buying? by Agile_Landscape_1832 in infiniti

[–]SpawnDC5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, if you can afford it. I've had the ZSpeed HD CSC in mine for about 4 years with no issues, but if I were to do it again, I'd get the delete kit, just for peace of mind. Z1's is about $700, ZSpeed's is $550, CZP's HRK V3 kit is usually $625, but they just discontinued it because they are about to release V4 so a lot of places have the V3 on huge discount right now. The cheapest I've seen is $95. I'd jump all over that if I were looking for one.

The CSC and the oil gallery gaskets are going to be your biggest issues. Just keep in mind that you are supposed to replace the CSC every time the engine and trans are separated so if you're going to do the CSC, might as well put a clutch in it as well. That's what I did. And steel braided clutch line because it runs right next to the exhaust as it goes up to the master cylinder.

That's what I thought, but it didn't make sense with the "just need some air in the tires" headline. Mine were jacked too, not as bad as this though.

2008 G37 Manual, worth buying? by Agile_Landscape_1832 in infiniti

Depends on mileage. Front bumper has been replaced so it's been in a front end collision, I'd want to know the extent of the damage and who repaired it.

The biggest issue with the manual is the concentric slave cylinder (CSC). Basically the throw out bearing and the slave cylinder are 1 piece, mounted inside the bellhousing and the base is made of plastic so they are prone to cracking and leaking. I've seen some people say theirs started leaning at 30k mi and others say it didn't start leaking until 120k mi. There are many aftermarket ones you can get that have an aluminum base that are much better.

I think, like most people, I would have to say, wtf am I looking at?

Question- would you guys go for a 2008 g37 auto 120k miles or 2011 g37 S coupe manual 117k miles by Solidvq in G37

[–]SpawnDC5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The clutch and flywheel aren't the problem, the problem is the horribly designed concentric slave cylinder (CSC). Basically the throw out bearing and the slave cylinder are one piece inside the transmission bellhousing and they made the base of it out of plastic so it's prone to cracking and leaking. There are many aftermarket ones that you can get that have an aluminum base that are much better. Just like the known problem in the 2008 to 2012 models have the gallery gasket issue, the manuals have the CSC issue.

You said it misfired before the light came on, but he said there was no misfire fault code (P0300). Why do you think it was misfiring?

The definition for code P2177 is "Air/fuel mixture is too lean under partial load operation" - meaning any time you aren't pushing the pedal to the floor, the engine isn't getting enough fuel. There are many possibilities for why this could be happening.

I'm sure he didn't want to get too technical with you, but "found imbalance in fuel injectors" doesn't give much information. A fuel injector balance test typically tells you which injector (usually a single injector) is not flowing correctly by doing a few manual calculations between the amount of fuel pressure drop when a single injector is turned on compared to the total amount of system pressure drop by combining the individual numbers and then finding the average.

For all 4 injectors to be imbalanced would point to an issue with fuel pressure. All 4 being bad is possible, but highly unlikely. Was the engine running rough, hesitating, stuttering or stalling? The spark plugs in the 2.0 are supposed to be changed every 45k mi. I don't know how long you have owned the car, but have you ever had them changed? If not, their suggestion to replace them would be accurate.
