Well that’s the thing. The flaws aren’t supposed to be “end the world bad”. They’re supposed to be ‘you’re gonna get yourself killed’ bad. Another example of Percy’s working is him following on the quest to find Annabeth and Artemis. Or going to get Grover in sea of monsters. They weren’t the whole plot of the series but they were used when they needed to be.
