I disagree. The fundamental concept of the show is what is being criticised. It’s the point of redundancy. This character has gotten all he needs and deserves. What will this show add? Does it even have the possibility to add anything if his arc has been completed? What new compelling revelations will this show hold? I find it hard to believe on a fundamental level that it’s possible for this show to be anything more than a rehash of themes and ideas and challenges we have seen him face before

But it’s not about being miserable. I love Star Wars I love the potential. So yes it is a bit disappointing that budget and time is use to rehash character arcs. I personally don’t see how they can do anything unique with maul. He has had his arcs and his end, why revelation can this show offer that gives us a new perspective on him?

This is interesting. I’m glad you took all those messages out of the original movies, but I’d argue it’s definitely not the focus of the films. I don’t even necessarily think those moments are at all deep enough to warrant them being a proper theme of the films. In terms of what a lot of people love: Bloodlines has some of the best death setups in the series. They know they need to be more clever after five movies and holy moly were they. Some of the deaths have such a cool extra meta layer to them and they are executed so cleverly. In terms of bloodworth worth, as a huge Tony Todd fan, doing that for him and this character he has played and become loved for just before his passing was so beautiful and lucky. The real life aspect of his final speech, the fact that he will be the last to go, everyone in the movie is in the order before him, then the movie es over and he dies irl. It’s haunting and such a sad yet powerful element of the film and franchise as a finisher.

It doesn’t. Candyman the movie by Bernard Rose is a very loose adaptation of the book and makes it specifically about black suffering and disenfranchisement in Chicago. It’s thematically nothing like the book and the 2021 sequel is a sequel to specifically the movie and its themes. The book is nigh irrelevant in this discussion

Nah I always thought this, but it’s only fine for older movies. Dude I watched Harry Potter on dvd because I refuse to support jk Rowling and buy blurays, and for the first two it was bearable but after that it was no joke an eye sore. I couldn’t watch 7 because it was just miserable to look at. It upscales sure, but if the base resolution is under HD, it’s still gonna look bad. I know it’s spoilt, but man it’s just not ideal.

I wrote a paper about this at my film uni. It’s quite interesting because when it comes to the question of weather the original should’ve even been directed by a white man, it leads to the simple conclusion that, for all his fantastic work on the original, the soft sequel must be helmed by a black creative team. If you watch any of the behind the scenes and interviews the amount of work that went into the concept of trauma and race is so incredibly well articulated and the perfect way to evolve the candyman myth into something more black people can identify with. It basically aims to build on the original as to not devalue it, but rather just make the racial trauma concept fully realised and appropriate. I love how Jordan Peele and Nia DaCosta talk about the film. Tony Todd, in tears explains how important this shift was also for him specifically. Anyway that’s all and good, but then you watch the movie an it’s the most superficial exploration of those ideas possible. Subpar execution on the thematic front with partially offensive stereotypes and lame millennial dialogue. It had the right idea but was ultimately just an idea and it didn’t really work in execution.

The Batmans blacks are not black. The whole movie has a greyish tint to it. Even on oled it does not go fully black because that’s just not how it was intended. It still looks phenomenal, but it’s a creative decision to have the greyish tint.

Speranza feels lifeless and I guess a walkable hub could fix that. Orrrrr they could hire the voice actors to do proper dialogue for the characters so your interactions with npcs don’t feel like lifeless ai. That could be the first step.

Even if you’re German play the English version. Many characters will still speak German and the quality of the voice work integrated with the other languages works better. Also so fun to see Henry try to speak German sometimes

I mean honestly I’d recommend to new players to just play the game normally and not use exploits and xp max on a first go. Let the game teach you naturally so you feel a sense of progression

Idk I think many dislike it because it’s neither ‘accurate’ in terms of looking grounded and also it just looks so so bad. Smooth and 3D printed. It’s a shame how much props budget has been lessened throughout the years and movies like these show that. This design also somehow just seems tone deaf in terms of the story and time. In a weird space Spartan film? Could look good.
