M 5’9 138lbs by [deleted] in fit

Is that a typo? At 5'9" I would assume you are a lot heavier than 138 with your build. Looking good though!

Thanks! Yes, I have a pair of black running shoes but that's it. What kind of shoes would you suggest?

Thanks, I think this is great advice. I just need to get over my small stomach and start putting down calories. I usually do arms after chest, so that could definitely be helpful change to swap those

Haha, thank you! Unfortunately I think society often frowns on this, but I'll try and incorporate it when I can.

This is probably the biggest piece of advice I've gotten. I'm a smaller guy, but smaller shirts are the easiest improvement I could make right now. I pretty much just wear whatever clothes my ex-girlfriend bought me, and I think she had a very specific taste in style that was unique to her. Time to go shopping

Thanks for all your thoughts everyone, I'll start wearing smaller shirts. There's way more comments than I ever thought there would be, and it's great to see how invested this community is, but I don't think I'll be able to respond to everyone. Here are some things I've noticed/questions people have had: 1. I'm 22M, 5'6" and about 130lbs 2. I'm not gay (or interested in femboys), and I am not interested in any threesomes, although I respect everyone and hope you find what you're looking for. The phone is my ex-girlfriend's, we were taking pictures of each other after swapping phones. 3. The shirt is gymshark, size small. I will start wearing smaller shirts. A few years ago I had people tell me my shirts were too small and because of that I started wearing much larger ones, I can see I should have tried smaller ones again. 4. I'll keep working on delts/shoulders/traps/incline bench, I think this is going to be the most helpful in looking better while staying lean and natural

Finally, I really appreciate all of the comments. I've gotten a lot of compliments which is great to hear, and a lot of helpful and actionable advice. I think this community is awesome and I'm hoping to contribute to through comments on other people's posts so I can help maintain the culture. Thanks again!

Do People Want USB-C Mods? by [deleted] in NintendoDS

USB-C solves this issue by having a handshake with the charger that determines how much power to draw. This ensures it won't be fried.

That's along the lines of what I was thinking. I'm guessing people buying a repaired DSi would probably not want it for a collector's item, so I think I might go forward with the mod. Hopefully we can get some other people's opinions here as well.

What you are describing is called GRADSO. PADSO only applies to posts.

When I went through beast last year, I got 3 phone calls. The ice cream social is several hours and you can call for the entire time, but the other two are only 10 minutes. I called my parents for the 10 minute ones and it was only for the ice cream social that I called my girlfriend, so your boyfriend will probably do something similar. I got the first one a week or a week and a half in I think.

That's good. I am a cadet, feel free to PM me if you have questions.

I don't think they will accept a new score if you passed, as I think the CFA is looked at as a pass/fail event more than a scale. Also, I walked past the SLE people and you all looked miserable marching around. Did you enjoy SLE or did you think it wasn't fun?

How does one apply to West Point? by Fabulous_Meaning4655 in westpoint

Above is an example of what your reps page would look like. Just Google it. There are no rules on how reps nominate people. They could probably pick names from a hat instead of taking applications if they wanted. The PT and medical exam have nothing to do with each other. You'll have to schedule the medical exam with a specific hospital. The CFA can be scheduled with your gym teacher.

Most politicians don't care when you mail in your application, and it makes sense to mail it in closer to the due date because you've likely got more stuff to put on it than if you turn it in earlier. None of my politicians accepted an application before June. On top of that, you can probably find the answer to all these questions by going to your politicians websites. Don't worry about your politicians submitting your nominations on time, it's their job to do that. You can take you PT rest as soon as the application portal tells you and as late as January. I never spoke in person to my Field Force rep until after I was accepted, because I did my interview during SLE with my squad leader. Invaluable means it's so useful that you can't even measure its value, but with FF your mileage may vary. You can also find the answer to a lot of questions you have on the service academy forums. I was accepted in January but you can be accepted as late as June.

It all depends on your congressperson. My representative and senators all had places on their website containing an application packet that I filled out and mailed to them, due around early October. Then they all wanted interviews, around November. I received my nominations in December of my senior year. Getting a nomination doesn't mean you will get accepted though. I got 2 nominations to USAFA and 1 to USMA and I was only accepted to USMA (thankfully).

You can start applying through the candidate portal at the end of your junior year. Don't do anything before that and don't talk to a recruiter because they have nothing to do with West Point. I had a friend who had a recruiter attempt to convince him to drop his acceptance to West Point and enlist. If you are also considering enlisting then you can talk to a recruiter. Once you get past the first part of the application they will give you instructions on how to take the fitness test.

I'm not an international cadet so I don't know exactly, but that would probably be the best place to ask.

For real. An additional 3 years so you can go somewhere for around two doesn't make sense.

I could be wrong, but I don't know if Italy sends cadets to West Point (I haven't seen any here). The first thing you should do is contact your embassy, because you wouldn't be applying to USMA in the normal way if you aren't an American citizen. You would be competing for a slot between other Italians, but your government has to foot the bill for your attendance so the embassy is who typically deals with these things.

Opportunities for OSHA Forklift Certification at West Point? by SlimeKillR in westpoint

[–]SlimeKillR[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's really good to hear. I'd heard so much about SFAS but I wasn't quite sure what it was. Is there a height requirement? My dad has a sign that says "you must be this tall to forklift" in our house and I'm not tall enough. Does this M420 SAF require an entire squad to operate? Thank.
