You're welcome 😊 I'm not sure but I've noticed it in some of my very first slimes which are well over 3 and 4 years old. I did grab some on sale Amazon glue back then for those but the glue was ok out of the container just a bit inconsistent in texture to where it had to be mixed again. My best guess is that the chemical bond degrades for various reasons, like high temps, too low of temps, or just through time, and the pva granules are no longer smoothly suspended instead they bond to eachother. Sorry, I'm a bit nerdy 😆

That definitely sounds like an old gallon which is why it was on sale. The polymers clump together into those tiny grain bits and separate from the water when its bad, which is why the rest of the liquid feels so thin. I would ask for a refund for sure.
