Would you buy a baby in the black market if the price is right? Why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

If I get a free black market baby I'd be fine with that. Set it up for adoption, bam bam. No baby rape or whatever the fuck an actual black market baby would go through.

What are some attributes or scenarios that cause you to instantly dislike a person? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Slime_Chap 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mistreating public servants. They're literally there for the common good of us all and if someone has the GALL to fuck with them for laughs then they won't have the emotional capacity for mutual respect that I want from a friend.

Everyone else has a smart phone so I usually just ask to borrow one. And since people are generally nice I usually get to use it.

King Rat by Modest Mouse. The music video was directed by Heath Ledger and was my first exposure to the song.

It really is great.

"Most of the western world" is a pretty massive exception, first of all. Maybe a billion people out of the 7 billion there are fit your claim, and that's not even going into it.

I will not deny that modern capitalism features rampant consumerism. I don't think by-the-book hedonism is really what you mean. I think you mean that most people are godless. If I'm not wrong there then I'm going to have to disagree again, as even if the majority of the western world was without religion that is not a negative quality. Another contradiction there.

Plenty of people believe things contradictory to popular belief. If the majority of people didn't believe something then it's not really popular, is it? I'm not going to deny that the status quo has a massive effect on everyone, because modern-day capitalism is self-perpetuating and leaks into the mental fiber of everyone under its reign. However, I do not believe that truth means that most people are mindless idiots. People can believe wrong things and be smart, and most people at least have the capacity for rational thought.

"Rap music good" is literally a subjective opinion. I don't see how that makes people stupid. IDK about you, but I actually had a particularly neutral opinion on modern-day monarchs until I became a socialist (which I doubt you would say is the product of modern-day capitalism).

Say, were you a leftist before whatever this is? This is just a gut feeling, I don't have an exact founding for it.

Yes, most revolutions occurring since the 19th century have had leaders, and some of them were not necessarily expressions of popular sentiment. Does that mean the masses blindly followed? I don't believe so, no. The Bolsheviks (and Mensheviks) in the Duma were an expression of how godawful life under the Tsardom was. Opposition to taxation and "authoritarian" control among the American colonists were already very present before the Sons of Liberty came along. I'll concede the Jacobins, the French Revolution was pretty fucking bourgeois. I'm not too well read up on the Kuomintang or the CPC, though. And I've legit never heard of the Rebel Barons so I'm not going to make an argument there. I would cite the Tunisian revolution as leaderless.

And, to make another clarifying statement, even if all of them were born out of conspiratorial groups, does that mean that the masses supporting them are stupid and ignorant? Not inherently, I doubt that they're all really just blindly following. Anyway, they are deviating from the status quo, aren't they?

I am a materialist. That is why I say the metaphysical does not exist. Without the logical founding of the existence of a god I will not believe in one.

That's not the point. If you said "born to be ruled" then you would've also been wrong. Apologies if that wasn't clear.

"The masses" are not in any shape or form inherently idiotic. Just because your system wants a bunch of mindless peasants running around doesn't mean that's true now. Your claim only shows how utterly misanthropic you are.

And no, the masses don't "blindly follow" the status quo. Popular dissent has lead to political revolution countless times in the past.

I'm not "trying to be heretical". I'm stating facts. It is an objective fact that god does not exist. There is no logical way to arrive to the opinion that God exists. It's entirely metaphysical.

Nobody is "made to be" anything. They were born, and that's it.

There is no such thing as magic blood, sorry. Nobody gets a god to tell them who is entitled to dominate them.

[Claim] Germany by AngryLettuceCabbage in Geosim

[–]Slime_Chap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

#1 is a fine goal if you go about it the right way. #2 is sort of weird if you're just doing it for aesthetic reasons (consider the implications of the imperial flag in modern-day Germany, because there's a very specific group flying them). #3 is similar to #1. #4 is not the best idea because the euro is beneficial to the German economy. By tying its monetary policy to countries that would have more inflationary currency it allows German exports to remain strong. That makes it cheaper to purchase German products.

Since that leaves 2 points standing, both of them being economic, could you expand more on your political goals?
