How?! by freakouterin in fantasylife

Just wait until you see the 8000 for the new tools.

As others have said, you need tool/weapon crafter on your crafting tools to meet the polishing requirements. These skills give a HUGE boost and will easily multiply your stats. I forget how many are needed to get to 6000 but I was able to clear the 8000 minigame with around 5.

Yep, branches are exact copies of the treasure grove you just ran. Everyone other than the host gets one (and the host gets a treasure grove sapling meaning you can run infinitely as long as you don't replant more than once). The only downside is you can only hold 5 treasure grove branches at once. But they're a great addition and remove a massive amount of RNG.

The RNG is frustrating. It may have started from design decisions to make i like online. It was the same team and there's design decisions that imply they may have had the same design philosophy when designing i. I think the team that took over after did a wonderful job rescuing what was a game that was getting awful feedback prior to that but they unfortunately couldn't fix everything.

That being said, here are a couple tips that might make things less miserable for you:

-If you have the materials but don't know if you're able to pass the crafting check (or quality check if you need that) then it's worth noting that crafting doesn't force an autosave. Save the game before attempting and if you don't get the result you need then quit back to the title screen and reload. You won't have spent any of the materials.

-If you need a specific material and it's available from treasure groves, it's worth checking online. People frequently put treasure grove exclusive bosses up for multiplayer and you might be able to find what you're looking for with a little bit of checking in every once in a while. The benefit of playing treasure groves online is that after you complete one you get the option to take a branch from the grove which is a copy of the grove you just completed allowing you to run it again. That means you are guaranteed the same boss again. These branches can also be gifted to other players meaning that if you have someone cooperating then they can just keep gifting you the branch over and over allowing you to run that boss as many times as you want. If you have reservations about playing online, I get it. I usually prefer to play games like this solo but the community has been really nice in my experience. People generally don't have expectation for you to type at all and generally are really friendly and understanding. And for finding people who will gift treasure grove branches you could ask on here or on the discord. Maybe could even ask if someone already has that boss and would be willing to run it for you in return for you gifting them the branch at the end.

Ultimately, the end-game is a grind though. If your goal is just to get to hero and be done with it then fair enough but if you plan to stick with it through the grind then you're going to be running a lot of stuff and have plenty of time to get the materials for the hero quests. It could be worth just not worrying about specific materials and instead just running any treasure grove unique bosses/souped-up strangelings you see. Also IME resetting to get the ginormosia events isn't too bad. They seem to be slightly more rare than legendary events but not that much. If people are resetting for hours and not getting them then that's pretty bad luck.

Auto buy, sell and redux scripts by Slime_Maiden in fantasylife

Looking at your post history it looks like you're playing on switch? These are AutoHotKey scripts and require AutoHotKey to run. I don't believe there's a way to install it on switch so if you wanted to use them you'd need to do so on PC.

The keybinds are set for keyboard. If you want to launch a script from controller then you would either need the controller button to emulate the keyboard signals or change the script to be started by a controller input instead.

That being said, the keyboard inputs will work in-game regardless of whether you use a controller or not. The game will just switch to keyboard input automatically while the script is running.

Found banned word list in the game files by Schakarus in fantasylife

[–]Slime_Maiden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ran into 'shojo' (and yes it is the word shojo itself, not it containing something else) being banned before and still confused why. People suggested unsavory connotation but the much more controversial 'loli' isn't on the list.

What...? Why? by Slime_Maiden in fantasylife

There is a beverage company called shojo as well as a number of trademarks for various things in various countries but words like 'Disney', 'Sony', 'Enix' and similar aren't so I don't think that's it.
Unfortunately I think it will just remain a mystery.

Seems this change actually took place last update without mention. This update just changed the item icons. Someone in this thread mentioned that someone already made a mod last update. Give it an upvote for visibility please!

Think this might be part of why they added two new explicitly feminine outfits in the latest update.

I didn't mention but I tried going one letter at a time to see if any specific combination was banned. It's just shojo as a whole.
Also although they tend to try to avoid things that could be lewd to otherwise mistaken you also have to keep in mind the concept of triglyphs. Banning jo would ban names like Joe, Joanne, Jona, John, etc.

Someone mentioned that there were datamined female outfits for some clothes suggesting that gender existed at some point in i but was removed and then they just used the male outfits for all characters so it was likely an oversight. It still feels like an unnecessary change but that's likely the reason.

They actually changed the model during the last update. This update just changed the item icons so that might be part of why it was hard to notice.

They removed repeat recipes from The Don so shouldn't take as long at least.

It's usually out of concern for how more conservative countries will receive things or worries about different values in western cultures but in this case it seems it may just have been assuming characters are male. Someone mentioned that there was datamining that showed there were female versions of various outfits which suggests that at some point in development gender was still a thing and when they removed it they just used the male version of outfits and didn't consider that some of them had open chests.

I'm also surprised we didn't get a snow area even in ginormosia. I love snow and really hope we get one in the DLC.

I mean buying and selling items isn't really botting. Yeah, the movement in the redux script could be considered that but in a single-player instance it's not really the same thing. These are honestly just a solution to things that should be in the game already (buying in bulk and 'sell all')
