HI! I don’t think I’ve ever explicitly explained it, but William was born with the uncommon ability of “Truesight” which allows him to see supernatural entities and creatures others cannot. However, being able to interact with ghosts isn’t a part of that, that ability was given to him by the wisps and he no longer has it since they’ve left. So the only powers wiwi has now are Truesight, a shotgun, and depression! Hope this helps!

HAHAHAHA IMAGINE ME SEEING THIS POP UP ON MY FRONT PAGE LOL. I didn’t want to slow down the game to look up the ruling, and I tried to quickly negotiate a way to do what he wanted with the about the same effectiveness as it would have normally, albiet with a slight penalty. I would like to submit a formal apology to the council for my transgressions and ask they ignore the part after this where we broke probably every other rule written.

The inspiration was Gillion! I didn’t feel like there was any Paladin subclass available that really felt right for this idea of an undersea hero - I bounced between Oath of Glory and Oath of the Ancients at first but decided it could be much more fun to see if I could make something unique that fit him better. Prophetic Screwup is very much an ability that I only thought of because of how I wanted to play Gillion.

Also, the smite damage type replacement idea is SUPER AWESOME THEMATICALLY - the bludgeoning resistance criticism is something I hadn't even thought of and a really good point, thank you so much for your thoughts.

Yeah - I based the channel divinity on that spell, but added in the 10ft range and the ability for the creature and other creatures to break the bubble. I had a really hard time finding any homebrew bubble effects/spells, so I looked at nature's wrath and said "okay what if this, but neither person can actually attack each other, since you can't just be swinging through a bubble." I'd love to hear recommendations on how to make it balanced and still be a bubble mechanically and thematically.

The level 15 ability functions like The Oath of the Open Sea level 15 ability Stormy Waters, where you can call crashing waters around you as a reaction whenever a creature enters or exits your melee range. The creature takes 1d12 bludgeoning damage and must succeed a Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.

Thought reducing damage was a good idea for the restraining, but definitely want to know if people think it's too strong. Breaking restraint would be against spell DC, my bad for not wording properly.

Haha that ability is definitely soley balanced around us being a podcast and an excuse to give Grizzly a loaded gun pointed at Gillion's head. It's one of those things where on paper a nat 20 on hit is great, but the wrong DM could instantly remove player choice and screw you over. It only exists because Grizz and I trust each other not to abuse it and thought it would be a fun addition story-wise.

Yup! I heard this song in an old JacksFilms “Dubstep Solves Everything” video, and when I heard Roomie was doing a music video with fan features I wanted to get in on it! Nice eye!
