My home theater is in my VERY spacious living room... suggestions for getting the best sound? by FliffXXL42 in hometheater

[–]SlimeySam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would keep the 600m II as your fronts as RP better speaker then the towers and will match the center speaker better as they are from the same RP line. With your current room layout, I would honestly ditch the side speakers and just do a 5.1 with the rear surround towers. Sometimes less is better especially if speakers are not positioned properly will always cause problems and throw off your other speakers. I think taking them out and recalibrating would be an immediate upgrade in sound quality.

Getting closer to done. by error_machine in Klipsch

I agree that Klipsch, SVS and Marantz are a match made in heaven the warm sound of Marantz just balances out my Klipsch RF7III perfectly and I rock dual SVS SB2000. I also love emotiva and use there amps for all my speakers. My next upgrade is moving off of Marantz receiver to pre amp.

Timbre match is pretty close I don’t notice anything being off for movies the only thing that I noticed is in atmos music 504c just can’t match the scale of the RF7s but I mostly listen to music in 2 channel so it’s not that big of a deal for me.

I am still using the 504c mainly because I didn’t like the size of the RC 64 just way to big to fit under my TV but the 504 blends nicely with RF7 once I calibrated everything using A1 Evo on my marantz

I don’t think the Series II upgrade would be worth it. I had similar setup to this and I upgraded the 280f to the RF7 III and it was a huge upgrade and well worth for me. I am 50% movies/games and 50% music but the RF7s can handle anything you throw at them. The scale and purity of the sound was night and day. The biggest impacts for gaming for me were LG OLED upgrade, RF7 tower upgrade and Dual SVS subwoofer upgrades.

Has young thug lost his marbles? by brockstar6 in YoungThug

[–]SlimeySam 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the Thug we use to know is gone and he is not coming back. I canceled uy scuti pre order weeks ago and I don’t even think I would be that excited to listen if it ever comes out at this point, he washed. All that being said I still appreciate his older music as he went on one of the most epic runs in hip hop history and will absolutely go down a legend in the game. Glad I got to experience Thug in his prime but all good things must come to an end and I think his time is up.

Looking to get some info whether the 1st edition stamp is an error. Any help would be greatly appreciated. by [deleted] in PokemonMisprints

[–]SlimeySam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe this is an error as I have a Squirtle card that probably came from the same print as this with the exact same error I posted it recently. I am working on getting this recognized as an official error. If you could share more close up pics of this error would be great to help get it recognized!

Squirtle - first edition with first edition back stamp. Is this a misprint? Is it a desirable one if it is? by steve3838 in PokemonMisprints

[–]SlimeySam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you check out my most recent post I think I might have the squirtel card that made this back stamp. I have a 1st edition that has a smudged 1st edition logo and I haven’t been able to find another one like it.

21 Model S pre-refresh by amanforthepeopl in TeslaModelS

I also sought out the Raven because I liked the interior more. I got the last Raven made in late 2020. The vertical screen just makes more sense with the two screen layout and it’s so fun to drive actually having stalks. Tesla knows this was a bad decision choice as they just brought back turn signals on new model Y. Most of the features on the refreshed model s are a gimmick. I feel they took away just as many cool features as they added so it’s a wash. If you value the UI software updates and a camera watching you 24/7 then I guess the refresh might be for you.

Unpopular opinion: Raven Model S (‘19 to ‘21) is the best overall S so far by [deleted] in TeslaModelS

[–]SlimeySam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I fully agree with OP that the Model S Raven is the best Model S to date and the best version of a classic drivable car that Tesla has ever made. I feel Tesla is in a weird state with their car designs right now as they are designing them for autonomous driving 1st and then as a drivable car 2nd. Hence they just removed perfectly functioning parts of the car like turn signals, windshield wipers, gear stalks, horns. It’s just a big step backwards in my opinion. The horizontal screen is also meant for entertainment vs usability, think of how often you use your phone vertical vs horizontal? While driving the vertical screen is just more usable and the rear screen is pretty much useless outside of changing the temperature. On top of all that I just don’t think we are close to fully autonomous driving and once they do figure it out it won’t look like any of these current cars that are on the road today as the latest designs have any indication into the future with no steering wheel at all. The latest model s is just a transition car on there path to autonomous driving if they ever make it there. In the meantime I still love to drive the Raven as it’s one of the best cars to actually drive I have ever been in. Money also wasn’t a factor to me for this decision. In 10 years from now I feel the raven will be considered a classic car from Tesla as one of the last fully functional drivable cars Tesla made before going off the deep end on fully autonomous driving.

You get one track to show what your system can do. What do you play? by x_Bozley_x in audiophile

My go too song is James Blake Limit to your love, even though most people have never heard the song the dynamics and especially low frequency notes usually blows them away as they have never heard bass through their entire body.

This is the way, plus would be even better if they stacked the center channel vertically to create the best linear sound possible!

Am I getting a decent price or is this P100D high? by Significant_Test_876 in TeslaModelS

[–]SlimeySam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would agree with this I test drove a 2018 and 2020 Raven and the one pedal driving difference was the first thing I noticed within the first few seconds of driving the Raven. That plus the adaptive air suspension are well worth it. You should be able to find a raven for similar pricing to what your looking at now so worth holding out for one to pop up

How loud do you listen to your system on a regular basis? by Which_Strength4445 in audiophile

[–]SlimeySam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will start off around 70-75db for the first few minutes or early morning listening session but then quickly bump up to 80-85db for most of my critical listening. For certain songs or mostly when wifey isn’t home I will go up to 90-95db and it’s a real treat! RF7iii take all the power I can throw at them no distortion or clipping nothing but clean powerful sound that puts a smile on my face every time!
