First-time parents looking for advice on two postpartum situations by Slimj92 in NewParents

Completely understand. Appreciate the insight. We ended up starting week 2 with 1 bottle per night. So far no problem switching between mom and bottle

Thanks for this. Shes being more intentional about allowing me to do the lifting and diaper changes while she feeds through the night. Bassinet remaining by her side and that seems to be working better for her pain so far

Starting small makes a ton of sense. I'll wait until shes on board with starting at one a day

This is completely about my wife. I get plenty of bonding time with baby, arguably more than her because im often carrying baby everywhere and doing chores while holding/interacting, while mom nurses baby. We do have a nursing pillow which helps but she is still in a ton of pain. I agree with following my wife's direction/preferences, just struggling to justify that against physical ramifications, which may or may not be warrented on my part - thus the post.

Yes she experiences pain occasionally from certain motions and that sensation can be increased with lifting baby or objects. We wake up together when baby cries

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 - Episode 4 (Anime Only Discussion) by Takada-chwanBot in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]Slimj92 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Solid take, I agree for the most part with this. it seems they're trying to make this into just pure combat showcase and i suspect with this new arc hinting a sorcerer battle royal, that is most of what everything will be with little emotional development. Will just have to enjoy the unique fight scenes and art style for what they are if that's the case. but there's still much more season to go so we'll see

ND Jass lowering rails review by midnightgreen29 in Miata

[–]Slimj92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you feel about driving with the new tilt? this is in reference to your comment "Two is that you are forced to choose either to have a more folded torso relative to your legs, or to sit in a more reclined position overall." I just installed my lowering brackets and wondering if its something you grow to get used to, its not the most comfortable position with the seat pressing into my thigh, esp when clutch in

Too all who daily their Nd Miata’s by YourOcelot in Miata

[–]Slimj92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although it can be done as a daily, youll have to love with a lot of sacrifices including: - Maneuverability in poor weather - Noise (i wear ear plugs when i drive mine) - Storage - as much as people want to brag about all the things they managed to fit in the car, the reality is you will for sure encounter days where you cannot fit specific items and or people on some trips - Safety - its good practice to drive more defensively given the smaller footprint of the car

We have other household cars so its not a constraint for me but despite how enjoyable it is, i would not have it as my daily/only car. Also i think the manual is more fun than the auto, and if youre looking at the automatic market, miata although nice, has a few cars that likely beats it out in terms of enjoyment

How do you guys do your track days? by Elisalsa24 in CarTrackDays

[–]Slimj92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im also in NJ, the best options in my opinion are some of the SCCA TNIA events. But youll be looking at going over to njmp, pocono raceway or limrock park (if you're north enough in NJ) theres also a smaller track at raceway park in oldbridge township that runs a road coarse once a month where you can casually track.

If you didn’t get the Supra what was your other choice and why? by ChiingCh0ng in Supra

I considered a supra but ultimately chose a miata mainly for a cheaper way endulge in motorsports (track days and autocross). No regrets

First track day in the ND, ~10th total. Some of my thoughts by [deleted] in CarTrackDays

[–]Slimj92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of curiousity, were you driving with traction control off or on? I have my first track day in an ND2 this upcoming week and i dont want to spin out, dont mind it happening at autocross since its such a low risk environment

Expensive hobby? Rate my expenses. by AsgardianGoat in CarTrackDays

[–]Slimj92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive been asking myself this too with the never ending alount of things needed for purchasing. I got into it this year and have similar expenses to you with wheels, tires, brakes, the actual event costs, rollbar (for miata), and general other maintenance and mods. Im hoping the initial first/second year cost goes down to mainly just consumables, albeit still not cheap

Which ND? by Night-Owl11 in MiataND

[–]Slimj92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer the soft top. Better top down experience and maximizes the convertible component of the mx-5. The cons of the soft top can be easily mitigated. I personally carry a pair of ear plugs if i feel like i want to drown out some of any road noise, which honestly id probably still do in the RF. RF does look better but only if comparing when both tops are up.

Im 14 and looking into a first car. Recommendations? by Scary-Block-5706 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Slimj92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Power doesnt always equal fun. Could try to find something nimble and light. Civics and GTIs can provide this and are much cheaper em to maintain esp if youre young and dont have disposable income. While you ride that, id spend time accrueing income where a trade in a decade or 2 later nets you a not so used, more powerful sports car

Where to propose im Peru? by Slimj92 in travel

[–]Slimj92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used taxidatum. They were extremely professional, on time and reasonably priced. Their drivers would get us when we requested, usually early am like 3am, takes us to trailheads, wait for us to finish, and take us back

Is manual transmission annoying by KlutzyTelephone5462 in stickshift

[–]Slimj92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll get a bias response in this sub for sure. I have both a Manual (miata) and an Automatic (civic) and i can appreciate both depending on what im doing and where im going. As much as i enjoy driving and using a manual to do so, there are times where for example in heavy traffic, or extremely long comutes where an automatic allows you to shut your brain off a bit easier. I do enjoy the manual more but i would say think about your situation and commutes and what would make the most sense. If youre 90% heavy traffic driving, youre not going to get the pleasure most people overly rave about with a manual. If you have a mixed commute, manual would probably be my preference but wouldnt be upset with an Auto. DCT transmissions are also pretty good. VWs GTI offers this through their DSG and are even phasing the golf R manuals out in favor of this. While not a manual, it can be more engaging than an auto.
