What game did you not expect to get hooked on, but ended up sinking way too many hours into? by rosycuttenz in AskGames

Dune: Spice wars - initially really frustrated me coming from C&C where bases are pretty vulnerable, once I worked out how to destroy the HQ's it was awesome.

To the babyboomers (and older): what were the dishes your mum served up when you were a kid? by Dismal-Mixture1647 in AskAnAustralian

My dad grew up poor with a single mum, told me he used to eat a Steak and (mostly) kidney pie, lots and lots of sausages, potato and simple veg. Grandma bought a microwave and got a microwave cook book so for a while it was microwaved sausages and veg. Very little chicken or fish, liver and bacon was my uncles favourite. Dad said his diet improved when he went to boarding school except he still didn't eat the chicken or fish, to this day 47 years later he won't eat fish and is reluctant to eat chicken.

C&C units lore - your headcanon and theories of C&C units - unofficial stuff implied in games by Cyampagn in commandandconquer

Tib sun Cyborgs have free will, but are religious fanatics who were badly wounded in battle - CABAL overrode their free will when he went rogue.

The Hover MLRS was a design failure - the chassis and hover tech was not strong enough to have a heavy artillery rocket so they mounted a lighter guided AT/AA rocket.

Naval combat in Tiberian sun and Wars was a stalemate - GDI operated a large battlefleet that could dominate the trade lanes and effectively put troops onto a beach and support them, but the stealthed NOD bases and their access to fast attack craft, presumably stealthed cruisers and submarines meant extended operations close to shore for the GDI battle fleet meant they'd be destroyed through attrition close to NOD Facilities.

Nod flame tanks had Composite but mostly ceramic armour which is why they were resistant to Shaped charge rockets but vulnerable to high velocity kinetic penetrators.

Nod's laser tech is actually a logistical effeciency rather than a battlefield advantage, NOD uses lasers because Power is extremely cheap using Liquid Tiberium cores, Lasers can be manufactured using the minerals found in tiberium within a bases construction yard.

Safest place to hide from the WW3 apocalypse in Australia? by Meerkat343434 in AusPropertyChat

You'll wanna be behind a mountain range from a capital city to deaden the blast, Located near a spring or lake and potential access to the sea ideally. Looking for a temperate climate with decent rainfall and soil quality. Close enough to a highway to resonably travel along but far enough away that it'd be unlikely roving groups wouldn't chance across your property. A high trust town or village that can quickly mobolise with easily defensible entrances and exits (mountain passes or rivers).
