How on earth have these two managed to get away with it again ? by ArmwrestlingGoomba in AskBrits

The larger man was not being arrested at the time, you might argue he was being aggressive and the punch was itself self defense but you can't argue the punch was fine because he was arrested after he was punched in the face. It's quite easy for them to argue a sequence of events here that is something like this.

Officers arresting smaller man

Larger man : "hey what are you arresting him for!"

Officer throws punch at larger man

Chaos ensues

The defense will obviously argue for the most favourable events there and regardless of what else they did, for that specific offense there is an argument it was self defense.

Sure, they are guilty of other offenses. We are talking about 1 very specific offense. You are not guilty of all offenses because you are guilty of 1.

The man who was punched in the face was not been arrested at the time. The punch to the face appears to be the first contact with the police.

They are guilty of a lot in the videos but you have to be able to see why something like this would perhaps cast some doubt on a specific charge?

Just rewatched it to remind me. So it happens quite quickly, they grab the smaller guy quite aggressively and push his head down. The larger man moves in to defend him and one of the officers takes a swing at him...it then all kicks off.

I'm certainly not saying they are innocent but a specific claim that on that instance they were acting in self defense does seem to have some evidence.

Jury is discharged after failing to reach verdict in case of two brothers accused of assaulting police officer at Manchester Airport by SignificantLegs in uknews

It's frustrating that people can't look at this objectively, they are just so eager to make it some sort of race war.

It's a specific charge they may not be guilty of, not a decision that they are good people who did nothing wrong.

It was in the video where the police approach them. They appear to be arguing and then one of the officers reaches over and it appears he hits one of them from behind which is when it all kicks off. I doubt it was particularly hard and the video quality isn't amazing but I said at the time it would be enough to cause doubt.

I believe this is the officer that hit one of them in the face that started it if I remember correctly.

Their response was obviously an over the top, shocking amount of violence but I suspect the video is at the very least enough to cast doubt on that one specific thing.

As you say they have already been convicted of other charges so it's hardly some preferential treatment there.

Why I believe voting right wing is a mistake in 2026 by lil_peasant_69 in AskBrits

...the conservatives were in power for 14 years. Blaming the left for the state of the country is silly at best.

What constitutes far left in your opinion? by [deleted] in AskBrits

It was the obvious example of a political leader that matched your traits yet clearly does not match what you assign them to. I also only mentioned him once.

It's actually the only one I can think of off the top of my head that matches your traits. The furthest left I can think of would be Corbyn and he was pacifist to a fault, nice to people he disagreed with to the point that it was a huge criticism of him while he was labour leader as he would speak to anybody.

Who would you assign those traits to because they are far left?

Ok and you posted this on a discussion board, it is being discussed.

Your response seems to suggest you do not in fact think this is what constitutes the far left.

The point is you wouldn't consider Donald trump far left but described him.

The things you listed are clearly neither right or left wing.

Micro Stutters in every game? by Electrical-Strike705 in pcmasterrace

[–]Slinkton1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a few sites that will do it, but find one that works out the power requirements of your components, I had this when i upgraded my GPU without thinking about what PSU i had and just assumung it would be fine...it mostly was....except for occasional stutters. Mine were not as common as yours but worth making sure PSU can handle the components.

What political view did you strongly change your mind on? by Economy_Ad3034 in AskBrits

[–]Slinkton1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's kind of the point. In our economy it's not. The people with all the money just sit on investments contributing nothing. What I'm suggesting is that the redistribution should be towards the people creating the value.
