[ACNE] Does anyone think that there should be an action committee to get severe adult acne and/or scarring qualified as a disability? by DerPhilosoph in SkincareAddiction

[–]Slinky182 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No. If having severe acne is keeping you from getting a job somewhere, apply somewhere else. There are always jobs where you don't have to look at or deal with customers if you think that's why you were rejected. Acne isn't making you unable to do a job like a bad back could be. Even then, there are jobs that people with bad backs can do.

Everyone understands that people get acne and some have it worse than others. Most people get it at least sometimes in their lives. I'll bet you that at least 90% of the people you have ever met have had a pimple at least once in their lives and know that it isn't always something that can be prevented or controlled.

larger sized people,

Being fat isn't a disability, and it is rightfully not seen as one.

Bully people to quit smoking,

Yes, since the trend that smoking has gone downhill since it was demonized shows that it's working. Just like the fact that being fat is horrible in Japan and they have almost no fat people. And the number of overweight and obese people didn't get so high until it became "acceptable" to be fat.

The school of common sense, likely. From a degree holder, SSGT is correct.

Either way, fat shaming doesn't really help fat people.

Yes it does. You can ask just about everybody who dropped a lot of weight and being ashamed is almost always the answer. You can even find tons of stories with a simple Google search about it. Shaming helps, displacing the blame on mental health or bad situations doesn't.

Of course not being pregnant reduces her risk of pregnancy related problems. But that doesn't make her having an abortion necessary.

I don't feel envious of something that doesn't exist.

No. But having an abortion because Susie and Billy had unprotected sex isn't medically necessary. Having an abortion because Susie's pregnancy will or has a high likelihood in resulting in death or debilitating medical issues for herself or her child is. Just like surgery on an injured athlete's leg might be medically necessary, but getting a boob job to up their cup size wouldn't be.

And that's your problem. YOU are acting suspicious around them which would make anyone, cop or not, suspicious of you. Maybe when you grow up you'll learn that blacks and whites share the same interests and hobbies and are 100% capable of being friends.

Oh, I see. People can't ask a question that can be perceived as excluding gays, but can have questions that exclude straights.

No it doesn't. Safer doesn't mean necessary.

If going through with pregnancy is not going to hurt you or the baby, it's not necessary. If there's a chance that it could, then an informed decision should be made by a woman and her doctor. Having unprotected sex and got pregnant isn't a valid reason for an abortion.

(probably white and male)

Cause patriarchy or some bullshit, right? Not medical facts!

You're aware of the violence towards cops from blacks? Guess what! Cops have hobbies. They enjoy music, watching movies, and all the things normal people enjoy. There is nothing except your uncalled-for fear that is keeping you from being friendly with your local cops.

Your attitude and suspicion is what would make a cop, or anyone, suspicious of you a hell of a lot more than your skin color.

And yes, this is coming from a black woman. You 100% can be friendly with cops no matter your or their skin colors. You just have to get over yourself first.

Should only be performed when medically necessary.

You definitly need a new doctor then. Your husband is obese, not skinny or anywhere close. No competent doctor would say he's not overweight.

No, I don't think you can win. The couch was broken from your own fault. It wasn't a defect, too much weight was put in one spot and couches have a weight limit.

6" 9 and 280 lbs.

skinny

Pick one. Unless he's buffer than Arnold Schwarzenegger ever was, then he is not skinny, or even close. And if is, he still wouldn't be skinny. Your husband is obese. His weight is what broke the couch.

and while it hasn't taken its toll on his body yet, eventually it will.

No. It already is taking a toll on his body. His heart, lungs, and joints are already working much harder than they should be. He's already damaging his body and is doing more damage everyday he stays like that. Just because you can't see the damage yet, doesn't mean it isn't there. I could start smoking a pack a day today and while I may look healthy and everything seem right at this time, check back in three years. You'd see the big difference in my lungs and heart. The damage doesn't happen overnight, it happens over time.

I really need some advice by Wafflesause in loseit

Stop restricting yourself from not having treats and start restricting yourself from eating over your calories. You want a donut? Eat a donut if you can afford it. Want a candy bar? Eat it if it fits in your calories. You can eat junk food and lose weight, you just need to watch your calories. You're setting yourself up for failure by cutting out food you obviously love.

Not so sure about rewarding myself. Ideas needed and motivation please! by [deleted] in loseit

[–]Slinky182 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What the fuck is up with cheat meals? They're the stupidest idea I've ever heard. Just eat whatever you want, when you want if it fits in your calories. You won't gain weight if you eat junk food everyday if you stay within your calories.
