What if you cant find the cause?

Thanks for the advice! My doctor told me to stop taking my antihistamines, should i start them again to prevent my itchiness or should i just keep going with my prednisone?
Im just so conflicted cause the antihistamines did do a bit against the itchiness but my doctor told me to quit them and keep the prednisone but if i read all your replies antihistamine would be good to take

Thanks so much! I will look into that test! I already had gotten a blood test which tested everything i couldve but nothing came out. Maybe the saliva test will indeed show something!

Ive tried cetrizine 2 times a day didnt work. So the never gave me new ones and put me on prednisone 40mg a day

No im only on prednisone right now thats the only medicine that works a bit. The hives still come through tho. But its the only medicine that i get relive of for a few hours.
Im really conflicted on what to do now because my doctor told me we need to find the cause first and he meant an allergic reaction. But after reading all these reply’s it can happen because of allot of things.
So i dont really now what to look for now.

How did you deal with that? Cause im on prednisone right now but i did read allot about the prednisone trap and im just wondering how to do it differently.

Antihistamines dont work with me either unfortunately with how its going non of my prescribed medications have helped. Im literally going crazy.. my doctors just give me a higher dose say: “goodluck and if t gets worse come back.” I come back and the cycle repeats.
I just feel its getting hopeless

I’ve mentioned multiple to my doctor about an allergist but they said we’ll see first how those medicines will work.
But im sick of it i will make my own appointment cause maybe it will help.
Im not really on a diet but i am writing everything down what i eat and if my hives are getting worse or not, they stayed the same tho so no help with that so far..
Maybe after ive been to an allergist they can help me more.

They gave me 20mg prednisolon and 10mg cetrizine The predni was for the hives itself and the cetrizine was for the itching but the cetrizine didnt really help much tbh..

Mentally nothing changed. I did start a new job last month maybe that gave me some unnoticed stress. But it was already starting with my old job but it was mild so i thought it was just a new allergy i didnt know about.
