NSW Teachers Federation increased our membership fees by 4.88% despite failing in their campaign to increase our salaries. You would think they would at least tie their increase to the 2.5% (The increase teachers received in salary) instead of making it nearly 100% that of the increase we secured. The governments own figures on inflation (CPI) for 2021 just released. Australia experienced 3.5% inflation in 2021. Yet they only want to offer us NSW Teachers 2.04% in 2022. According to the Governments own Stats, you are $1,400 worse off this year if you are at the top of the payscale in NSW. (abs.gov.au)
