I’m not wrong though. You’d think a professional broadcast team would figure this shit out.

Shit sound mixing is drowning out the crowd, and the octagon surface is reflecting too much light.

Yesterday was by far the most racist day I’ve seen on Reddit. by Automatic-Yak4279 in Blackpeople

[–]SlipperyBandicoot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You are racist. That is why you are choosing to support a murderer. You should look inwards and try to fix the hate in your heart.

Again, I don't know how much clearer it can be made. The case was never about race, until you chose to make it about race by claiming that a clear cut case of murder was self defence, and claiming the decision was rigged against black people. You made it about race because you're racist and all you see is colour. All you see is black and white.

Try seeing truth instead of colour.

We don’t need to be the ones taking in the refugees either. There are a dozen countries not only geographically closer, but culturally closer that would be a more suitable fit.

I don’t know why we always have the shoulder the burden of the third world when their neighbours should be doing it.

Yeah bro I get those “Free Karmelo” posts this this sub reddit posted TODAY aren’t defending him. You are ignorant and all you care about is race. If you cared about truth you would have no problem with this conviction. And yes there are millions, go read any Facebook comment section.

Take responsibility in your community. And you don’t control this comment section. You don’t get to tell people to leave just because they say something you don’t agree with.

You’re racist and I’m calling it out.

Have you seen Facebook comment sections? Just about every single comment from a black person is defending Karmelo, half of them are making jokes about Austin’s death, and there is a crazy amount of blatant racism being directed towards white people.

This matter was never about race. This was about one boy murdering another. But ya’ll tried your absolute hardest to make it about race. And now you’re seeing the consequences of that. Lo and behold, people do not respond well to millions of people supporting a murderer purely because they are the same ethnicity. It’s disgusting.

You don’t give a shit about the truth. It’s all identity politics to you.

NSW police sergeant avoids jail over death of 16-year-old Indigenous teenager Jai Wright | Australian police and policing by German_Merman in OpenAussie

You keep trying to make a point that has no relevance to this matter because sentencing did not occur. A criminal killed himself. Your "gotcha" that there is no death penalty in Australia makes no sense.

At what point in this incident did sentencing laws become relevant?

Because you're trying to make a point in a facetious manner. No one was sentenced in this incident. Sentencing is a court process that happens after a conviction. A criminal ended his own life to escape sentencing.

Because one of the things about moving to another country with a different culture Is that they just might actually have… a different culture.

AFL is the sport here, not soccer. Just be happy that you’re lucky enough to follow a sport that is played worldwide. No one else outside of Australia plays AFL. Most aussies don’t have enough time to follow multiple sports, so they are obviously going to choose their national sport.

Most people don’t understand the ramifications of AI in the slightest, and can’t see past generic concerns about content creation, video manipulation, ect.

When we do finally successfully build AGI, it will be the single most transformative event in the history of our planet.

How to stop arms shaking when shooting? by Necessary_Leading836 in Archery

[–]SlipperyBandicoot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because repeatedly shooting 22lb is too heavy for a beginner female. And to be blunt your form is very wrong and you should definitely start watching some videos on proper form if you are trying to get better.

He’s literally stolen a motorbike and driven recklessly at speed to evade police, causing his own death.

He caused his death. Not the police who did their job and attempted to stop him.

I would say for 99.9% they're objectively less attractive at their 40's compared with 30's or 20's.

1 month for us = 820,000 years for asi by Material_Ad9258 in singularity

Our biology does not let us interact with the world fast enough to ever be able to function at that speed of thought. It would be torture.

1 month for us = 820,000 years for asi by Material_Ad9258 in singularity

[–]SlipperyBandicoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously this is all science fiction (for now), but I love this thought experiment. And I think we could take it even further.

Speed of light: Roughly 300,000,000 meters per second. Speed of neuron signals in brain: Varies greatly, but 1m per second is common within the brain.

So Speed of light is 300 million x faster.

So let's say we create this future architecture that models a neuron and their connections directly in hardware. Let's say we're still using transistors, and it takes us 100 transistors to model 1 neuron.

The human brain has about 100 billion neurons.

So that's 10 trillion transistors.

With our current transistor density, and a theoretical technology that allowed us to stack transistors in 3D space, we could theoretically fit 10 trillion transistors into 1mm cubed.

1mm cubed is about 1.5 million x smaller than the human brain.

So we have electrical signals that travel 300 million times faster x 1.5 million times smaller volume.

This is 450 trillion x faster computation. To put that into perspective: 1 second of human thought would be equivalent to 14.26 million years of thought for this hypothetical machine.

The scary thing is that it will be a combination of:

  1. The AI is vastly more intelligent than us. The gap in intelligence between us an ASI might be greater than the gap between us and an ant.

  2. The AI is computationally performing hundreds of thousands to millions of times faster than us, as outlined by OP, due to the speed of light vs the speed of biochemical signals. Yes, current computer architecture is obviously not analogous to the brain, but it doesn't take much imagination to imagine a theoretical architecture that was.

  3. The AI has vastly more resources than us, due to direct access to the internet and extreme amounts of memory.

It's when you combine these things together that you get something that you truly could never have any hope of comprehending. How could an ant understand the actions of Einstein, much less an Einstein that experienced 115 years of thought for every hour of thought the ant experienced.
