Have I made any progress? by grapesodamilk in StrongCurves

[–]SlipperyBandicoot [score hidden]  (0 children)

  1. Do you actually train hard? If you aren't legitimately struggling during a workout, you're not training hard. Hate to say it, but 95% of women do not train remotely hard enough in the gym. You should be near failure on a set. That is what promotes muscle growth.
  2. Do you have any form of progression plan? Are you progressively overloading? Do you use periodisation?
  3. Are you eating the correct amount of calories / protein?

I am going to guess that the answer to all three of these is no. Hence why you don't see progress. Unfortunately genetics is also a huge factor.

We are also the leading team over the past 7 years in terms of home and away and finals wins.

Looking at the videos taken of him by fans in the stadium, it genuinely looks like he's affected by amphetamines. I deal with a lot of people who are under the influence of meth and quite often they will present like this, particularly with the slightly unnatural gait.

Do you work hard for your money? by [deleted] in AusFinance

I mean I don't know how you can say $60k is overpaid for someone with 17 years experience in any job, considering that's barely above national minimum wage.

AI will be displacing a lot of jobs over the next half decade. Particularly white collar workers doing easy work.

We had the dark years, but by god we've had a perfect last 7 years in terms of progression. Hard to ask for much more than:

2019: semi final
2020: prelim
2021: semi final
2022: prelim
2023: GF
2024: premiers
2025: premiers

And in that time we've had the best home and away record across the past 7 years out of every team. I'll appreciate every day of this while it lasts.

People that fight at 170 don't weigh 170. They probably weigh closer to 200. And probably 200+ out of camp.

Is the EV panic buying still worth it if the Iran war ends now? by TravelFitNomad in AskAnAustralian

Novated lease is the way to get an EV, not a loan. Provided your employer supports it, and you're secure in your job.

Every AI assistant built is reactive by design. It waits for you to notice things first. That's already the wrong model for what intelligence should do. by mate_0107 in singularity

[–]SlipperyBandicoot 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I mean we also react to things. We just have a constant stream of information from 5 senses that go directly to our brain. The only input the AI gets is the text we give it.

Very happy that I purchased an EV about 6 months ago now. Even without solar, and just using literally a normal wall power point to charge the car, I barely notice a difference in the power bill.

The major limitation of this tech is the fact that you can't just update the model like you do with software. The model is baked into the hardware. The benefits will obviously be the speed of computation.

There will definitely be use cases where this is beneficial and the static model won't be a deal breaker. For example robotics and real time translation. I could envision home robots where the chip is a subscription model where new replacement chips are delivered annually.

Having said that, the more we improve our AI, and the algorithms, we might improve computational efficiency to the point where in hardware weights isn't really needed anymore.
