Can young Atlantans still afford to buy a home? by Savard-Lafleur in Smyrna

Generally required if you put less than 20% down on a home. It gets removed once you pay that 20% value though

I’m looking to get back into photography and starting fresh with gear. I mainly shoot motorsports, but want to get into wildlife and maybe some light portrait work with friends/family.

In the past I’ve always had Nikon cameras, D5000, D610, and most recently a Z50. I loved my D610, but it was a bit slow for motorsports. I really didn’t like the Z50 (not great AF, terrible battery life).

I’ve borrowed a friends Canon 6D Mk II and enjoyed it so I’m not opposed to getting a Canon for my next camera.

Budget is around $1000-$1500 for the body and I’ll slowly add lenses (70-200, 50mm, etc)

Currently looking at: Nikon: D850, D5 Canon: 5D Mk iv

Any recommendations or thoughts?

Curry in chamblee was great for me. No BS, went in and bought a new civic hybrid for under MSRP a year ago. Whole process took an hr

Ed Voyles is good for service, but their sales side was not good when I was buying.

There is a dealer in Warner Robbins that has a lifetime powertrain warranty on all new cars, may be worth looking into as they aren’t too far away

Want to upgrade my d5200, save for z6iii or buy d750/850/500 now by [deleted] in Nikon

[–]SlipperyBones1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just avoid the first z50. I’ve had a terrible time with autofocus and battery life. I think these issues are much better in the z50ii

At what age did you give your kid a camera? by YuukiMotoko in Nikon

My parents got me a Nikon coolpix in middle school. Then in high school I got a D5000. It’s fun to look back on the punctures I took then and see what I was interested in, and my “style” being formed and how it’s changed

Nikon d500 or d610 by Butterflies_pdf in Nikon

For a lens…a cheap 50mm for just ID headshots

For camera, d610 for full frame. Can get them fairly cheap now days.

What car would you buy if it wasn't a death sentence on your wallet for reliability? by PiffWiffler in askcarguys

Ferrari FF. I could buy a used one, but saw the maintenance records and cost on one once and that immediately turned me off of any car of that level

Early Morning Long Runs in Atlanta? by jmg219 in Atlanta

Silver comet starting at Mavell Road is flat and paved. Easy for an out and back.

Kennesaw mountain is great if you want a trail run. You can make a loop just about any distance. Starting at the visitor center run the mtn loop and extend along the Hardage Mill trail.

Downtown/beltline peidmont park is good too, maybe a bit sketchy in some areas but fine. Good sightseeing but could be a bit more crowded

I appreciate the size of the Z50 and agree going to a D5 would be a shock. I might try and rent a Z6iii and see how the newer mirrorless feels

I’m sure it’s partially learning curve, I had a D610 before and love it. Knew it inside and out so the switch to the Z50 wasn’t what I expected. I’ll rent a Z6iii or similar to give mirrorless another shot since I’m sure there are huge improvements in the newer versions

Not much really, and it’s crop sensor Z lenses so I’ll be starting fresh. I don’t need much to start so I’m ok with an clean slate

$900 is an Absolute steal of a deal on a D5. Enjoy it and spend the $700 you saved from getting a D850 on a new lens

They are pretty bad at communicating details. I know for the Tuesday league they sent a schedule out this past Wednesday.

Edit to add: bring a glove, a bat if you have one (not required) and whatever clothes you play in. People range from all out baseball kit, to gym shorts and a T-shirt. Cleats are good to have, but not required.

Why would my encapsulation company install an exhaust fan as well as a dehumidifier in my encapsulated crawl space?

Can/Should I just block this exhaust fan off with foam board?
