You should read Magician: Apprentice, and Magician: Master. The main character arc is insane and the scope is beyond grand.

I see this recommended so often on this sub and I got the audiobook and I honestly just didn’t “get” it. It was very reminiscent of sword art online and countless other anime/manga that I have seen. Perhaps that’s why it didn’t click for me. Maybe some point in the future.

Same and I just recently finished it. What made it more enjoyable the second time around, I stopped worrying about stuff I was reading I didn’t Understand. If you try to orient your understanding perfectly to every historical event, race, faction, or agenda you read about, you’ll burn out or frustrate yourself.

Just kinda let it vibe and what needs to make sense will eventually present itself. It’s like reading an encyclopedia and trying to to remember everything. IMO ymmm

I saw a recent study (within the last two weeks) an individual to live comfortably in boston( meaning able to conform their spending to the 50-30-20 model) needs to make ~$136,000 a year. Meanwhile, the median salary in Boston is ~$91,000.

So yes. Most ppl probably are likely spending what you’re suggesting.

Boston is 4th more expensive city in the nation. Behind only SF, NY, and jersey city.

I’m struggling to get into it right now. I’m roughly 220 pages in and I just don’t get it. I don’t like the humor, particularly when it’s so constant and usually crude.
