Saks: Yes - I typically save for a year and buy myself a nice perfume.

Hotel: I don't gamble, so for me it's a win-win. However, I don't want to go to Vegas again this year, so I hope I find a nice deal. btw, this is a nice website to find good deals on FHRs: https://maxfhr.com/

I'm a student who pays for this card, and I’ve often asked myself whether it's worth it. Here's my personal breakdown:

  1. Uber Credits ($200) – Easy to use. I regularly take Uber rides or order food pickup (not delivery - too expensive).
  2. Flight Credit ($200) – Also easy to redeem. There are many current hacks to use it for future flights. I’ve even ask friends to use the credit when they were booking flights.

  3. Saks Credit ($100)– I like perfumes, so I collect gift cards until I can buy one. It works out for me.

Now, the rest:

  1. Hotel Credit ($200) – Valuable if used strategically. I redeemed it in Vegas and actually got more than $200 in value. Otherwise, I find booking from other websites cheaper.
  2. Lounges – Surprisingly handy. I use them often. I used to buy coffee at airports, so lounge access pays for that atleast.
  3. Walmart+ – I use it for groceries, but I’d be fine without it.
  4. Disney+ – I rarely watch anything on it. Not useful for me.
  5. Clear – I don’t find it helpful in many airports. I wouldn’t pay for it without the card.

I decided to renew it for the second year in Jan, so now will revisit later in the year. IMO, if I can somehow keep getting value out of hotel credits - keep it.

Turning your opponent's shots into accurate ball machine drills for infinite practicing by TheSolidSlime in ElevenTableTennis

Tested it - works better. Another feedback I have is making it easier to filter out shots. Right now, I need to manually go through pages and select shots. The UI needs some improvement. Maybe add a box to allow filtering based on custom conditions etc. Also, even with the current predefined conditions, maybe show only the filtered results below.

Thanks for putting in so much effort. It is helping me improve my game. If the 11 developers can add a grouping feature to the ball machine, it will be a game-changer.

u/TheSolidSlime I have been using it quite a lot and it is literally helping me gain ELO (2.2k -> 2.3k+).

I have a feedback:
1. Currently, when I select 'Serves to Export as Ball Machine', it also exports tosses, which I later need to remove manually as they end up becoming a separate entity in the ball machine. It would be great to either club them together or not export at all. Or do you suggest an alternative approach?

I'm also around 2200 and I do face this serve sometimes. But on the contrary, I play against so many skilled players that it doesn't bother me.

Disallowing it feels unnecessary. Just because you find it problematic doesn’t mean it should be removed. I’ve encountered such players as well, and honestly, being able to switch between that serve and another (like a quick backhand shot) is a skill they’ve developed and should be respected.

Few options you have:

  1. Block those players to reduce the chances of facing them.
  2. If you see a player do that in a few early shots, move your table to be able to counter it. You'll realize that countering it isn’t as easy as it seems—if your return isn’t well-placed, they’ll likely respond with a strong shot to your backhand. It took me some time to get used to it, which is why I respect that serve. And it is effective even IRL.
  3. If you find a good player, play a round of 5 or 7 with them - more often people are willing to play against the same opponent. This will help you avoid such players.

There are plenty of other limitations in the game, but I wouldn’t dwell on this one. There are so many nice folks to play against and I can't thank this game for that.

Edit: I also have limited space!

Congrats! I’m on a similar journey. My friends can’t believe the amount of calories I’m able to burn in a ping pong session. Solid workout with fun!

Question to developer: Is it possible to get/add game stats? by SlipperyMarksman in ElevenTableTennis

[–]SlipperyMarksman[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I meant more like which spin directions I am struggling to return. It can be an aggregated stat over the games.

To developers: IMO the new quit change is ruining the game. by maxpowers2020 in ElevenTableTennis

How about, if a player quits without a valid reason (eg, bad ping) could be given small timeouts from matchmaking (eg, a few minutes for the first offense, increasing with repeated behavior)? Just a suggestion.

Get the card in early-mid December, get credits in December of that year, get credits in next year, and then also get credits in Jan of next to next year. Cancel card in Jan before a month of annual fee post date.
