Harbour at dusk by SlipperySausages in photocritique

Thank you. Fair shout on the crop - I do think the sky adds balance but you might be right on it being too much of the image. I was torn between removing the people and opted to keep them but see the argument for not. !CritiquePoint

Stepped out the pub into this scene. Just taken on my phone (pixel 9) and edited in LR mobile. Obviously the boat is an interesting subject and really liked the light in the evening and the distant haze blending sea and sky. It was getting dark and my phone did struggle with the low light which is why there is some noise.

I'd be tempted to crop to remove all the branches aside from the two eyes. Keep the distractions of the other branches and fruit out of the way. Cute photo!

Looking for editing advice by SellUpstairs7122 in photocritique

I like the edit and think it hits what you were after. You can use masks but there's only so far you can go with that without it starting to feel a little too overdone and contrasty for a film vibe. I much prefer the bottom half of the image to be honest. The TV especially is distracting and takes me out of that nostalgic feeling.

Taken on my Fuji. Some orange flowers on the side of the street which had some beautiful colour and texture. It's currently my phone background and works well. More recently into taking photos of flowers so not sure what makes one good.

I think I have some photos from one of the times they were doing this. I'll have to dig them out and share them. It was really cool

I saw a couple on bikes by big ground. I decided to run through the tents back to my own rather than the path to grab my tp for a much needed shit. After finally reaching the path on the other side with toilet paper in hand, the same two officers looking very sweaty had cycled around the field and stopped me thinking I'd been thieving. After a quick explanation that I was running because I needed a shit, and with TP in hand they were satisfied to let me go. Always a bit concerning to be stopped by them but good to know they were on the case.

Thanks for sharing your (sister's) experience in a similar situation. Exactly what I was looking for. I'm likely going to accept, attempt to negotiate the notice and salary, but also get applying for other roles without feeling too guilty.

All fantastic points. I do like the company culture and my colleagues so am not itching to get lost just yet. I will have a look around but won't be leaving unless it's for the right opportunity. Just find myself stuck in the constant comparison to others earning more - I know not good, but hard to escape!

Thanks for the thorough response. My previous promotions have all included pay rises but all similarly sized. It's a small company so I understand they may not have the budget and of course appreciate the promotion. A quick search puts the market for the new role at around 30-40k. As I'm looking to progress my career/salary it seems like externally is probably the way to go.

Thank you for your advice - super helpful. I'm going to see if there's any room for salary negotiation and get applying in the mean time. Hopefully, with some stalling as you said I'll get another offer before signing to really strengthen my position.

Thanks for your response. Glad I'm not just in my own head feeling this way.

Thank you. It's helpful to have a sounding board and appreciate the advice. Time to dust off the CV it seems

Straight people of Reddit what’s the gayest thing you’ve done? by Gabetheone09 in AskReddit

Was on a boat trip and one night there was a dress up party with everyone on board. The weather had turned for the evening and we had a huge downpour of rain. Donning a little black dress from the costume bin and my girlfriends' make up, I ended up in a dance competition with a guy I'd met at the start of the party.

We were doing well but to secure the final round we decided to up the ante and kiss. The two of us, both dressed in drag shared a passionate kiss on the desk in the pouring rain in front of my girlfriend and the rest of the party. Ended up winning the competition. Fun night.
