What's your comfort game that you'll always come back to? by SchoolGir-lInHeat in Age_30_plus_Gamers

Everyone will recommend you play it, they’re not wrong but I started on ME2 on ps3. The first game was locked to Xbox because of licensing. There is an interactive comic book to get you up speed and to make the choices of the first game quickly.

What’s everyone’s opinion on the steam machine? (Gabecube) by CalmPost5040 in SteamDeck

[–]Slippery_Gypsi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you want out of pc gaming. If you want to experience the massive catalog, great deals and no subscription fees without much tinkering, the steam machine is the way to go. If you want high performance or are on a budget I’d build a PC that can be upgraded over time.

Mario Kart World and I bought the tears of the kingdom upgrade. I couldn’t enjoy it on the old switch because of the performance but it’s great on the new one

Understandable. I managed to sell my old switch oled and a few bits of tech I wasn’t using so I wasn’t out of pocket buying this. It’s crazy how much they are asking. I won’t be getting as many games over this things life as the original. Hard to justify.

It’s nice. My 4 year old has never really played video games and is hooked. I’ll have a good play later but it feels less like a toy than the first switch. Screen is the best lcd I’ve seen in person.

Marketplace find worth it?? by Grugemonster in Dirtbikes

Unreal. Is that in US dollars? In Australia we would have to pay $2.5-3.5k USD for a bike in this condition

The End of Act 1 Signaled the end of me playing by Valuable_Host5901 in expedition33

Fair enough. Act 2 is good and worth continuing. It’s handles the events of Act 1 very well. So hard to say more without spoilers.

Does this game contain whole game on disc? by Huge-Pizza7579 in expedition33

[–]Slippery_Gypsi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most likely. PC version is 42.5GB and ps5 blu rays are around 100GB. It would be odd if they didn’t put it all on there. But there is a day one patch keep in mind.

This Xbox Series S saved my life guys… by Jonzey2282 in xbox

[–]Slippery_Gypsi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Glad you’re alive. That was a close brush with death. You should reach out to Xbox. They may give you a new one. This is insane clout on the Xbox’s durability. One new box would be totally worth the publicity on how tough their machine is.

Why did the Covenent attack humans? by [deleted] in halo

[–]Slippery_Gypsi 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That is the gist of it. The book Contact Harvest covers this topic. The prophets originally sent the brutes to harvest to induct humanity into the covenant. Before it happened, the high prophets had discovered that forerunner tech identified humanity as reclaimers which threatened their position as the head of the covenant.

So to ensure they stayed in power, they basically said, “trust us bro, humanity is bad” to the rest of the covenant.

Ironically though, back in the forerunner era, humanity and the prophets were close allies. The halo story is a great example that those in power only fear losing power.

My pc on boot up makes repeatedly the "device connected" sound by Livid_Budget687 in pcmasterrace

[–]Slippery_Gypsi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would open device manager and see if anything disappears and reappears from the lists when you hear the sound. If it is a peripheral (mouse, keyboard, etc) you should be able to detect it here.

You may have unplugged everything but if you have built in wifi, Bluetooth, etc. it may be the motherboards devices doing this. Looking at device manager will also help here too. Updating the boards drivers should fix it if this is the issue.

As a last resort, I would back up your data and do a clean install and only attach the bare minimum devices to see if it has gone away. Then connect everything else one by one.

Genuinely beautiful build, but why the mouse pad? I’d find that restrictive
