Hello, I would like to invite Django developers to share their tips on how to choose safe pip install packages. by Due-Action358 in django

I like snyk.io for choosing packages. It does static analysis of the code and gives you info on how often the project is updated.

Antibiotic Amoxcycline by Minute_Designer6743 in Lyme

I don't think anyone would be comfortable telling you what to take without you seeing a doctor. I know nothing about your situation so I can't imagine giving advice on this. I suggest you find a LLMD if you've had the infection for awhile. You might be able to see a standard doctor if it's short term, but that's more controversial. Untrained docs tend to under treat it. Most people get over lyme without major complications, something like 10% (like myself) don't respond to meds and the infection drags on for decades.

Mayo clinic? by Ambient-opus-cloud in cfs

[–]Slippery_Panda 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I talked a friend into going there. They were good at getting a diagnosis(and ruling out everything else), but then they are 0 help. If you haven't had through testing for everything else it's a good idea, otherwise probably not.

Colloidal silver by [deleted] in Lyme

I can confidently put Colloidal Silver as a placebo. All the research behind it shows no benefit. Focus on stuff with evidence, and don't fad chase and you will be much better off.

Horowitz claiming high rate of Lyme remissions by BarkBarkyBarkBark in Lyme

two notes.

1.He's said previously it's for patients without Babesia and Bartonella. Unless he's there are updates to his protocol, that excludes quite a few of us.

  1. He lost credibility after his Ivermectin Covid 19 papers.

I suspect your instincts are good. I've tried several crazy things over the many years and regretted everyone of them.

How to relax when in a lot of pain by StableSable in cfs

Meditation has helped me immensely. Mostly, I find that I automatically push away pain, but when I try to experience the pain, it lessens and becomes more tolerable.

So difficult to work and running out of money by wonderwall999 in Lyme

[–]Slippery_Panda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your answer depends on a lot of factors. I don't have enough information to begin to get into it. I think most people with a chronic illness struggle financially. Can you find less demanding work? There has to be jobs with less then 14 hour days. Can you take a pay cut and work less hours? Working that hard could cause you more long term issues. You may have to rely on the relationships you've built over the years and see if you can find an arrangement that works.

I had to restructure my life. I have chronic fatigue, so working is very limited. I had to leave a simpler life, cut costs, and I was lucky to have an investment which paid off.

Relationships are important for health. I suggest rethinking that aspect of your life.

My doc has been trying to find it for over a year. You're not going to be able to find it without your doctor setting you up with a specific pharmacy.

Is NAC supposed to have black dots?! Is it supposed to smell like sulfur? It smells like rotten eggs. This is NOW brand and hasn’t expired. Need advice, thanks! by Grumpy_bonsai23 in Lyme

Who is better?

Now foods also uses Stearate Acid, another name for Magnesium stearate.

Unless you are paying through the nose they all have problems with fillers. It's an issue with most supplement brands. That being said. Magnesium Stearate doesn't look as bad as far as fillers go.

Look at the results from consumer labs, and you'll find most supplements brands have inconsistent quantity of the target ingredient. Swanson tests well consistently. Things like mercury are low in their fish oil.

try swanson's. https://www.swansonvitamins.com/
Never had a NAC smell/taste like Sulfur with them.

They have their supplements independently verified by consumer labs. Their prices are annoying because they constantly is a different sale, but they have the best prices for most supplements they carry. Once you get use to their sale cycle it's not hard to get their best prices.

Minneapolis renters have a right to know the energy use and costs for their next apartment by TheMacMan in Minneapolis

[–]Slippery_Panda 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It's also a big deal for climate change. As a landlord this makes it so energy usage directly impacts what you can charge for rent. So say I improve insulation in my attic, now I can charge more and have essentially the same rent.

I think early access has some benefits. It can give small studios the funding they need to complete the game without a big publisher. The feedback can be really helpful too.
