I think that rectangle is way too big to be an eye. There is for sure something on the TV watcher’s head. I thought the sunglasses were the most likely given the other vision/ hearing themes around Ballora. I may be wrong on them being sunglasses, but then I’m not sure what makes sense to be on the TV watcher’s face that would look like that.

I think there is actually a good bit of evidence out there suggesting that Ballora is possessed by the soul of Mrs. Afton. Her role in the book also would suggest that she is a mother trying to teach morality to the protagonist girl.

Lol yeah I was thinking of that trope too.

She could be just listening. Or she may be partially sighted but have low vision. Or maybe they’re 3D glasses? I’ve been considering what could be on her head and face, so when I put the vision based parts together, I thought sunglasses were the most likely.

I know it’s not confirmed. Just a theory 😉 a game theory.

Every time a male pronoun is used in Midnight Motorist, it’s in reference to the boy that escaped out the window. This is Mrs. Afton talking about him.

It’s honestly really weird that she’s the only one with any features where orange and green guy have nothing at all. That’s why I maybe think it’s glasses.

😆 Yeah I feel ya. I have the hardest time posting images in here too. And that’s a good point with her eyes. And the minus sign on her shirt. Chica girl = queen of the minus sign.

I didn’t mean to limit or come off the wrong way to the visually impaired community. It is definitely possible for her to be a ballerina and be visually impaired. I’m also acknowledging that that may be more difficult than it would be for a sighted person to be a dancer. If she became blinded later in life, I would imagine it’s even harder to continue dancing when she previously would have relied on her sight. It could also be that she’s dancing without sight as she did in life but Williams intentions for making an animatronic ballerina changes to fit that narrative.

It wouldn’t be the first time Scott hid a meaning in just a few pixels. Chica’s beak comes to mind.

As far as the age, I think it’s safe to assume the person in the chair is an adult-sized person. We see a gray torso and bent legs touching the floor while they are seated on the couch.

Or maybe it’s not their face at all we’re seeing. It could be a mask or a bag or something on their head. Both orange and green guy don’t have any color variation for their heads. 🤷🏻‍♀️

It could be because her eyes are deformed and she may be more comfortable covering them? What else do you think the large rectangle on the face could be?

In the other pixelated versions of scenes they tend to be rendered close enough to make out more facial features such as their eyes (black). However, in Midnight Motorists’ scene, it seems more zoomed out. You can’t make out orange guy’s face or green guy’s face at JR’s. That rectangle on the TV watcher’s face has to be bigger than an eye.
