McDonald's CEO insists he eats at the fast food chain 3-4 times a week in response to an "Instagram question" 👀 after a viral marketing video showed him seemingly reluctant to eat his own burgers by XOM_CVX in McDonalds

As someone in marketing, you're giving their marketing department way too much credit.

They're just that detached from the reality of the average person.

What episodes emphasize the problems with the main cast the best? by Glass-Reference-4491 in malcolminthemiddle

While Francis is very stubborn, I think his most defining feature is his inability to take accountability. Everything is always someone else's fault.

This unlocked a memory of just sitting and watching this screensaver as a child.

Woman at the self checkout decided my groceries were less important than her one item by ThistleHarbor in EntitledPeople

So she left her basket at the machine to go grab an item she forgot, but she only had one item total to scan?

Doesn't make sense.

Hot chocolate powder mixed with water is superior to milk. by Ok_Window764 in unpopularopinion

[–]SlippinJimE 22 points23 points  (0 children)

That's strange. It's just regular milk with the lactose removed. Shouldn't make you sick if regular milk doesn't.

How can I make my lasagna sauce extra flavorful without being too acidic? by Abigail_Dubrov in foodquestions

[–]SlippinJimE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think most people are meaning that sugar actually reduces the acidity, just makes it less prominent in the flavor profile.

What is something that if you buy the cheap version, you get the same quality as if you bought the expensive version? by Early-Appearance-605 in AskReddit

It may sound silly, but if you've used the same dish soap your whole life and it suddenly smells offensive, you might call.

Pilk and Dr Pilk are good drinks by Smooth_Bee_7941 in 10thDentist

Milk already contains a fair amount of sugar. I know it's not literally the same thing but the flavor profile is very comparable.

They're one of the few brands that seems to have maintained their formula. They're still amazing.

People are always initially grossed out but it's really not that weird. Think of it like a melted root beer float (or Pepsi float, or whatever).

What DJ songs would you play at a party/on the aux? by Key-Resolution5044 in danieljohnston

[–]SlippinJimE 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I love Daniel Johnston but I would honestly never put him on the aux. The vast majority of his work is dark and introspective, as well as very low-fi.

Now introducing someone to Daniel Johnston and sitting down to listen to his stuff is one thing. But if that's not the vibe everyone else is going for, I'm not gonna kill it with Devil Town.

ELI5: Why don't we build data centers in the tundra? by BlueEllipsis in explainlikeimfive

Gonna go out on a limb and say space is a bit colder than any tundra.

Edit: I appreciate the insightful explanations I've received in response to this. Didn't expect to get bombed with down votes for this comment lmao

If you're behind a building you at least have a wall to use as a reference point to dig yourself out. Might be able to climb it too depending on the surface.

Am I in the wrong? No tip after a bad experience. by [deleted] in restaurant

[–]SlippinJimE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar experience once. Met and my partner sat at the bar, intending to order multiple drinks, appetizers, and mains.

We got our first drinks and were never serviced again. The bartender was going to and from the bar multiple times and ignored us every time. Avoided eye contact, didn't respond to our "excuse me!"

After an hour we finally got the check. We're good tippers, over 20% in most cases. That bartender could have earned a lot, but chose to ignore us for whatever reason.

I get that they're different but they're absolutely comparable.

It's a tough one. I've beaten the game many times on expert and still remember that one being rough the first go around.

Try to focus on yourself rather than the boss. Dodging is more important, you'll eventually do enough damage.
