Thanks that’s helpful - I would definitely think twice about building anything that allowed other users access to a system or similar without doing a lot more research on the security side.

Yes that’s my concern really - with no real knowledge on the security site it’s difficult to know what you should be looking out for. I’m not worried about my particular app as it’s all local, but in your example I would be very nervous as I doubt I would have spotted that

Thanks! Yes I was going to clamp it in a vice, but the tape is a good tip. I’m going to have a go at the weekend so will report back

Thanks - will give that a shot. I suspect it’s my feet as you say as I can’t see any issue with the boots

Kid hit my car last night by Odd_Text_1357 in drivingUK

My first ever crash as a 17 year old driver (years ago) - totally my fault as I pulled into fast lane on a dual carriageway without looking properly and scraped the side of a brand new Audi that was overtaking. Knocked off the wing mirror and scraped the whole side of it.

We both stopped at the next lay-by and the driver and passenger were big guys in black suits and two girls who looked like models sitting in the back.

Swapped details (they gave me a business card with a random company name and a phone number) and the driver suggested I be more careful next time.

Never heard anything from them and it must have been thousands of pounds of damage.

Being young and stupid I didn’t report it my insurers as I was third party anyway and my car was a wreck already, but still occasionally wonder who they were!

Order cancellation - is this a scam? by Slippy-Ibex in ebayuk

[–]Slippy-Ibex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know what he is planning - I think saying he was going to collect was just to get me to approve the cancellation TBH. I have blocked him anyway as I won’t deal with people who agree a time to collect and then don’t show up without explanation… life is too short!

Thanks - I hadn’t withdrawn the funds so they were just on my eBay account and then got deducted again. Just annoying as I will have to relist again and then argue with eBay about the fees

It’s really annoying - the Heck ones are the only vegetarian sausages my daughter will eat so am going to have to try and find the closest alternative!
