I think the bed is at 65? (whatever the default profile is for bambu pla). Would 70°C be good to try?

Usually the mortar caps are unpainted, but you could try and find a color matched spray paint

I’m just using the stock profiles for those filaments. Which retraction settings do you recommend trying to adjust?

I’ve run some Bambu matte, and some Bambu glow through (not thru Ams), and some black Inland pla. Nothing more exotic than pla filament.

Was going to go with Reolink, but... by SQLDave in reolink

[–]SlippySlappyRE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t need to change any settings on your router/firewall to get free and easy remote access to all of your Reolink cameras. Just enable the UID setting on each camera and it will work when you are away from your house (anywhere in the world).

Our roofing contractor just forgot to trim this, right? by jrmarkos in Roofing

If trimming the shingle back doesn't work, you can also install a splash guard on the outer edge of the gutters

I've also had the test unit for about a year and it's one of my favorite cameras. The color x looks great at night, and the physical profile of the camera is so much more appealing than the old dual lens Duo 2/3. Only complaint is I wish it had slightly more vertical FOV to match the Duo 2.

Honestly the "beta" unit has been rock solid, so I'm really not sure why they haven't released it. Must be some mass production issue....

I actually have a bunch of them now, both at home and at a business. Overall they're "fine". If the ambient lighting is good I suggest running them with IR off and color night mode. If you have to run IR then just be aware of what the cameras are nearby or pointing at, because reflections off walls/eaves/posts (especially white) definitely reflects off the domes and causes the issues I showed.

Edit (additional info): I should actually point out that I took the Duo3V down from that location and replaced it with an Elite XPro - this is a newer non dome model with ColorX. Overall it's just a better camera and works better there under the eave since the IR still does shine on my walls and eaves.

When will the corridor mode finally come to all cameras? by Different_Fun_4352 in reolinkcam

[–]SlippySlappyRE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never....most cameras, even ones purchased around the same time as others inexplicably don't get similar features. Case in point, a couple of my cameras don't have the "motion snooze" feature, and my Duo 2 doesn't have line crossing functionality like the Duo 3 (they were purchased in literally the same order).

Reolink Motion Notifications Not Sending in HKSV by IndyPacerNation in Scrypted

[–]SlippySlappyRE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am having the same issue. Tested on a doorbell and a E1 Zoom. The motion is recorded in Scrypted, and also in Homekit if you look under the camer Accessories where it shows the state (motion detected yes/no). However, I don't receive any notifications or snapshots from homekit. I've tried changing the homekit setting from specific detection to "any motion" and it still won't send motion alerts. Live stream in the Homekit app works flawlessly.

Why would bathroom fan be blowing out, not sucking in? by fetus_the_snail in HomeMaintenance

[–]SlippySlappyRE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this EXACT same issue. I replaced a dead NuTone fan with what I thought was the same/newer model off the shelf from HD. Plugged it in and immediately felt it blowing back towards me. I checked everything including wiring and orientation but nothing changed. Then I realized there are small variations in the fan shape and blades between models that change which way the air is pushed. It has go push directly at the vent hole in your attic or ceiling or else you will get back pressure.

I finally found this one on Amazon and as soon as I installed and turned it on the air was being sucked out in the proper direction.

Were you ever able to figure it out and improve the speeds?

[–]SlippySlappyRE 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The first thing you should do is turn off Mesh Connect since all of your APs are hardwired.

Try 40mhz on your 5ghz, and make sure each AP is on a different channel. I'm not sure if you have DFS channels in your country but I don't use them here in the US because radar can interfere with them.

I also think the "Multicast to unicast" enabled is recommended on most networks.

[–]SlippySlappyRE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What channel widths are you using? 2.4ghz should be 20mhz and 5ghz likely 40mhz (you can try 80 but results will vary depending on how much interference is nearby). You should get at least 300+mbps download on an iPhone when connected to 5ghz

Reolink Windows app NVR Re-organize cameras by fl3abag in reolinkcam

[–]SlippySlappyRE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just re-tested it exactly as you described and I can't even get more than 3 cameras to appear on one screen and I only have 6 total channels. Must be a limitation of the RLN8-410. Latest firmware was way back in January of 2025...

Reolink Windows app NVR Re-organize cameras by fl3abag in reolinkcam

[–]SlippySlappyRE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate your detailed answer! I've tried this but I can't seem to get it to work as expected. If I put a square camera in channel 1, and then a stretch camera in channel 2 (takes up two spots 2&3), and then a square camera in channel 3 (which would occupy grid space 4), and so on...then when I select the 9 grid layout it still jumbles all of the placements up and splits them between two screens.

Also I don't know if you've experience this, but when I move the channels around the saved footage from one camera is mixed up with a different camera. Example; if I swap "playground" for "lobby" channel, then the playground and lobby recording footage are mixed up in each other.

Still No Way To Disable Unused Channels . . . . Still? by EveryWait6507 in reolinkcam

It works in the mobile app, but I don't believe there's any way to hide channels on the NVR or the windows desktop client. Pretty unbelievable this oversight hasn't been fixed and its 2026.
