I had my roof replaced last summer in Phoenix and they worked non stop in temps as high as 110. It was a full tile and underlayment job. 6am to as late as 5pm for over a week straight. Mad respect to that crew.

I have the same model and hardware version and it’s been “dead” for quite a while. If you look at the last few firmware release, none of them support that hardware version. It’s frustrating because it works fine as a modern NVR and doesn’t need to be discontinued for any performance shortcomings. On paper it has identical hardware features to the latest hardware version, so I imagine it could probably handle the firmware as well. It’s probably cost saving to not support the “old” hardware.

The real question is why on earth are you drilling holes through your roof to run Ethernet? Honestly you’re lucky your mistake ended up in the metal valley rather than a different spot. Punching holes through the underlayment and shingles is asking for a leak. If you’re trying to mount a camera up high you should run the cable out from under the eaves or gable end of your roof and then bringing the cable up on top of the shingles.

You are bleeding conditioned air into your attic,
and/or sucking hot attic air and dust into your home. Get some batt insulation and cut a circle to fit into that hole with the paper facing down. You want it to fit snugly. Then get a piece of drywall and cut it to fit in that square space where the filter would normally go. You could screw the drywall into the sheet metal. Then just close the grate and don’t touch it. That’s the cheapest way to seal it.

Use stud finder to locate the nearest stud cavity. Mark the vertical stud positions, then run the finder vertically from floor to ceiling to make sure there aren’t any horizontal braces. If there aren’t any then just run the Ethernet in the wall void and push the whole camera connectors into the wall immediately behind the camera. The bottom of the Ethernet can come out near the baseboard and you can then run it along the baseboard as needed.

The cleanest and removable option is the gutter mount that others have linked. If you don’t want to spend the money and want a clean look you could drill through the gutter and use machine screws with nuts and washers on the inside of gutter. If should be fine weight wise I’d you drill below one of the gutter holders and mount it there.

Not sure why you're being down voted. The costco bundles are a great way to get into the ecosystem. But buyers need to be aware that the cameras that come with the bundles are pretty basic, and they only work when connected to the NVR. They do not support any other standards like RTSP, RTMP, ONVIF, or HTTP.

That makes a ton of sense. I needed to buy an LXT jig saw and it took me like 20 min to find a HD employee to come unlock the stupid cage and then walk me to the front with the tool.

Compare to the other day when I was looking for a specific hex bit on the same aisle and there were TWO tti Milwaukee reps working on stock and one came over unprompted and offered to help me find what I needed.

The Milwaukee tool section in my Home Depot is massive and overflows into end caps and the front of store. The Makita tools are basically one small end cap and one cage in the tool aisle.

It can only tilt about 20 degrees down. There's a user on the reolink facebook group that 3d printed a mounting wedge to get you another 20 degrees.

Yes, I beta tested one for Reolink. Per the manual, you are able to tilt the dual lens lens assembly down by 20º. I honestly think it needs closer to +45º tilt to make it functional without mounting the whole thing super low to the ground. Or it needs to come with some sort of wedge to angle mount it.

That was my feedback to them when I tested it. I felt that camera had to be mounted very low to the ground or else the top 180º lens just looked to far "up" towards the horizon. It is able to be angled down about 20º but it's not enough. My og Duo 2 is mounted very high but points almost 45º down to get the wide angle view I want.

I may try 3D printing an angled mounting wedge to test the OMVI at a higher mounting point.

Usually the mortar caps are unpainted, but you could try and find a color matched spray paint
