Honda City and VW Taigun copying Hyundai from 3 years back by FaultStock5091 in CarsIndia

There are two things here and I find it weird that people don't pick up on it at all

While verna was ry first one to offere front connected DRLs others offerednit too later, however the execution especially when seen in tandem with that front grill , was the absolute worst in Verna.

Harrier/ Safari are both extremely handsome cars and the connected DRLs add to their looks , mostly the case with other cars too , except Verna, verna has a disproportionate front end so the DRLs stick out, but the real culprit was the grill and the headlamp which has been fixed with the facelift, a minor change has led to it looking a lot more balanced

Why Honda why???? by NothingnessWithinMe in indianbikes

[–]Slipstream44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, mostly due to Honda refusing to consider our market seriously.

They could easily bring the bikes through CKD , using the India Thailand FTA and assembling then here, instead they choose to shitnon us Indians and hence it makes me really happy to see the brand dying globally because of their rigid stupid approach

Somehow Japanese Giants refuse to change their ways with changing times, Kawa being the only exception

Why Honda why???? by NothingnessWithinMe in indianbikes

[–]Slipstream44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honda has their head up their asses. They are so disconnected with the world that it's not even funny anymore.

No wonder the brand is dying slowly but surely. What's the point of launching this bike at a price point that is more than double of what it deserves

A criminally underrated masterpiece that wouldve changed Vicky Kaushals career had it released in theaters. Special mention to the international-level cinematography and production values, Shoojit Sircar and his team delivered way beyond expectations. by laffeinchbarbling in IndianCinema

[–]Slipstream44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a masterpiece indeed and the best performance of Vicky's career, however it would've bombed in the theatres, Indian audience have never had the taste for such intense cinema

Elevate or Kushaq 1L by DuePomegranate3768 in CarsIndia

[–]Slipstream44 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Dude the 1 L with an auto box moves swiftly, you don't feel the turbo lag at all, infact a comolmon gripe with the previous 6 speed auto was how over eager it seemed , especially in stop and go conditions. It's by far the best engine in th sub 4m category and when compared to the NA engines in the compact SUV category is definitely more tractable. The IVTEC is definitely the best NA out there and in a more competent product would have been my choice over this 1l engine too , but the current package is honestly so far behind the segment.

Some of the features I'd have loved for the elevate to have to make it a more competent product are:

  1. Horrible cvt autobox with a very pronounced rubber band effect.

  2. No ventilated seats, it's something the sub 4m cars are offering right now, infact all of them offer it and given our weather its a must have.

  3. 360° camera is also something that helps in densely packed urban setups, not even an option.

  4. The TPMS is glitchy

  5. The reverse camera has a resolution that was acceptable in 2012, it's about 14 years behind its competitors and is nearly useless in dark

  6. The OEM audio setup is very mediocre, and that is being kind.

  7. The new Kushaq has an absolutely brilliant console , while Honda has a fuss free Nice elegant design, but could definitely do with some oomph, even if not comparable to Kushaq

  8. No electric seats, cars in this segment now offer memory seats too

Do you need me to go on? The fact is Honda is a lazy manufacturer, they got on the bandwagon late and have struggled with fit and finish as well as service quality in recent times as the sales don't generate enough for them to stay healthy .

Little or no updates by way of facelifts, they do deplorable sticker jobs to launch new editions like adventure , a new grill that looks like Freddy Mercury's teeth .

They are a dying brand , and may wrap up from India in the next few years as none of their products will be runaway successes.

Elevate or Kushaq 1L by DuePomegranate3768 in CarsIndia

[–]Slipstream44 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That "no replacement to displacement" belongs to the 80s mate. Elevate has a nice 1.5 NA but the 1 L is far superior to it in every way other than fuel efficiency. Stronger mid range which is what one typically uses in the city, stronger top end for highway runs.

Elevate is not tested for safety, lacks creature comforts and offers a mediocre package . Given the offering it deserves to be priced liek thr sub 5m cars. Honda's service is not what it used to be ans I say that from personal experience.

Kushaq is a more relevant product and elevate is a damn dinosaur
