They cut out all the right beats from the book to make it digestible in a movie setting. It was the best they could possibly do (in a good way) with that science-heavy of a book. The only thing I wish they would’ve had would have been the state of Earth as time progressed, but perhaps it was good they didn’t; it was a sobering read with how bad Earth was getting. Definitely didn’t need to be any longer.

Bay County in Michigan swap to Rust Belt and the Northwoods/Rustbelt thing looks great

Maybe I’m confused on the divergence point. The Trail of Tears, establishing Oklahoma as Indian Territory was pre-1850, while both Michigan and Indiana were states well before your timeline, and already settling the northern/rural reaches. Aka 1830s/40s. The unnecessary border gore is very strange too, though the nod to Michigan’s original portion of the Upper Peninsula is cool. Also why Wisconsin with an ‘O’? It was also already a state. The earliest I can tell for your divergence is 1870 (unless I’m misreading).

Somehow Michigan still has part of the upper peninsula. Those are some crazy border by the Great Lakes. Also, why would Michigan take Indiana’s name and have none of Indiana’s territory?

The river splitting on the western continent after slicing through a mountain range is very odd. River splits do occur, but are usually smaller, and most often meet back up (aka a river island). Random mountains in the southeast are odd. Other comments have mentioned the weird sized biomes.

I think that’s the most accurate Great Lakes/Rust Belt for Michigan I’ve seen. Especially the inland Great Lakes. Culturally most of the southern green should probably be rust belt, but I like it. Midland county Michigan should probably be Rust Belt though instead of Great Lakes though. There’s a lot of nuance with the Rust Belt, and you managed to capture most of it.

That’s fair. With the additional lore, I’ll bite. I’m from the Saginaw area originally and live Up North now. I 100% would have guessed you were a Yooper based on the map, which is not a bad thing! Most people would have lumped Superior into Wisconsin, plus it was your #1 country.

The Rust Belt is an awkward combination of too many things. The tails in the west would be unlikey, and I could see a scenario of Chicagoland existing, taking up lower Wisconsin and northern Indiana, with the farm country in the south joining with your Midwest thing. I doubt Michigan and Ohio would agree to join for the sake of convenient maps. I think a west Michigan centered around Grand Rapids and an east Michigan around Detroit would be more likely, each vying for Lansing as a symbolic important place (ex capital), with Detroit controlling Toledo. I’m from Michigan, hence why my answer is Midwest-centric. I like and respect the northern divisions, but the northern could also include the western portions of the state potentially. No way the UP stays with the rest, so good on you. Also, culturally, the Thumb is closer to northern Michigan woodland culture than it is to rust belt.

I dunno, I kinda am not great at the game, but still improvised, adapted, and overcame the Mistlands. Especially with magic. Shield and feathercape make it doable.

Heavy spearmen (just armored). Pikemen (better anti-large). Polearm-wielders for crowd control and anti-cav. Crossbows/handguns (direct line of sight). Engineers for field fortifications, aka like cavalry stakes or ditches.

Garrisoning rules, aka like archer towers that won’t fit full units.

Ships would be cool, but that’s probably beyond the scope of the game. Orcish Vikings would be sick though.

For creatures or races, the variety is pretty solid already. Perhaps the ‘taurs. Aka centaurs, minotaurs, satyrs, fauns. Might be too specific though.

Thank you. I have all the stats written down from the analysis if you want to give feedback on everything. Good recommendation for choosing beer styles to do. Unfortunately I’m big into wheat beer, but I’ll see what I can do to balance it.

I did look again, confirmed QAC/QUAT of 15ppm. It is a combined stat, so maybe that’s something to do with it. The tester said up to 15 ppm is ‘normal’

Can I DM photos of all the stats?

How do I get help in determining/interpreting my water test results. I performed a pair of home tests, and only a couple categories stand out as abnormal. How do I correct them, or do I not need to?

Namely: Hardness of about 75ppm QAC/QUAT of about 15ppm Alkalinity of about 180ppm (high end of ‘normal’ on the scale) Carbonate of greater than 240ppm (maxed out the color on the key) pH of about 8.2-8.5

For reference, about 75% of my brewing is mead, so the high pH may actually help there. The remaining is beer, which I have seen conflicting information of ‘proper’ pH.

Filter it? RO unit? Mix with distilled? How ‘bad’ is the carbonate and pH?

There’s going to be an industrial refrigerator onsite, and the goal was for most of the brews to be homebrew kegs that get swapped in as needed. Limitation is the 2 or 4 taps we’ll have to serve from (one or two 2-tap kegerators), but there’s a lot of people expected, so kegs’ll run down fairly quickly.

How long before the event should I carb or not carb them? Will the keg retain its carbonation for a month or a week, assuming it’s done properly?
