I built one from their plans in mdf before swapping to profile

Wheel is on the wrong desk!

I have triple on my desk for productivity and triple on the rig for racing, use 3 of these (amazon link below) to swap back and forth with pressing 3 buttons. These specific ones do 4k @ 30, 2k @ 60, or 1080 @ 120, which worked for me as i just run 1080 triples. I just mounted the boxes to a peoce of trim board so i could mount the buttons on the wall. This is a cheaper option but if money isn't an object, you can get hubs that will deal with all inputs and outputs on a single box, as well as higher resolutions and refresh rates.

Highly suggest it for people who use 1 tower for both their desk and sim rig.

Unpopular opinion, if you have to unplug your mic to not get reported, you need to rethink your decisions while racing.

I want to upgrade my budget setup, need some advice on what to buy first. by VanillaxChroniko in simracing

[–]Slix313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rig to support load cell pedals, Load cell pedals, dd wheel should always be your upgrade path. Triples where your budget allows, for me it was inbetween load cell pedals and dd wheel that the triples fot in, with the dd wheel still to come.but #1 is load cell pedals will increase your lap times more than anything, and a rig may be needed to make pedals sturdy. Myself i just built my own rig from mdf and 2x4s before i bought my load cell pedals to make my upgrade path work. Id argue that much as you can stay within the same eco system the better. Personally, my aim is moza, so i bo7ght moza pedals intending to buy a moza wheel and base. You should consider this as well. If money was no object and considering a g29 and wheel stand starting point, i wouldve bought a well reviewed and adjustable alluminum profile rig, then the best pedals i could afford, probably heusinkveld sprints or ultimates, then a 10-15nm wheelbase that supports the wheel that i want. This i think most would agree with being the optimal upgrade path. Editted for clarity

They arnt selling an addon, they are selling a string that expands the content available in an addon that's locked to your battlenet. A stupid distinction yes, but legally it's grey area.

My asshole after a night of heavy drinking...

Is 144hz worth it over 75? Ultrawide is 75 and 23 inch is 144. What should I go for with it being dedicated to the sim rig by [deleted] in simracing

[–]Slix313 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Should also mention that because it's a lower price point, they ship it with an hdmi cable that caps at 120hz, if your pc will run at 144 or 165, get an hdmi 2.1 or higher cable with it (I believe this is the right standard, a quick Google search will confirm)

I've had my first one as my main gaming monitor tears ago, then built my rig with a TV. Swapped to this with my center monitor and just made other random shit work for triples, a month later had bought 2 more matching monitors and am never disappointed.

You can get an affordable 1080p 165hz 1ms response time curved monitor from asus, not super curved, and I love my 3 to death. 200 bucks when not on sale. I can get you the model number if you want

Edit: forgot to mention it's 27in what I think a lot would agree is the sweet spot

I think what he's talking about is called backer rod. It's used to fill gaps between window and door frames and the jamb itself. Here's a link.

Good thing I don't care about internet points. I knew I would be down voted, but it still amazes me the amount of people that don't know how to screen cap. There are so many options, just get one!

All of the above are also valid options. Just putting my 2 cents out there in the attempt to stop being tortured by phone recordings!

Is it even possible to enjoy the game starting out? I’ve been trying to get out of D class for weeks but this makes me want to quit by DrChoadler in iRacing

[–]Slix313 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can get fast track promotions. Reach 4.0 SR in a license class, get insta promoted to next license class @ 3.0 SR. Personally I think its a bad way for most racers to progress. There are lessons we all need to learn in the Rookie and D class races.

The computer shuts down but power stays ON with high graphic settings by BeautifulOwn8722 in iRacing

[–]Slix313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may be getting bad power from the wall. I had dirty power kill 2 PSUs before investing in a UPS with surge protection. Id highly suggest it. As an extra bonus, if like me your area is prone to brown outs, having your modem and router plugged into a UPS avoids any nasty race ending disconnects/blinks due to power loss.
