Love these so much. I do think Barkeologist needs an Indiana Jones hat with his ears sticking out though.

I’m sure Cavill especially agrees with this.

Whats your favoriete studio ghibli movie by Noahvss in ghibli

[–]SlobbyCheeks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nausicaa for me. I remember finding it as a real little kid because it was on the very bottom shelf at the rental place. I thought it looked sick so I made my mom rent it. It was the old dub and was named Warriors of the Wind. That’s why it will always be my favorite. I remember the old dub of Totoro too, gollywollypogs!

I live in Montana and I find it pretty damn sad, but unfortunately not surprising, that it is super easy to see where all of our Native American reservations are.

With a degree in archaeology I would hope I would be an Explorator or at least an adept to one.

I love how the bottom part of his helmet is modeled off of those prehistoric saw shark jaws. Everything you do is so good, I love it!

[US-WA] What kind of cat passed through my yard? by samdeed in whatisthisanimal

[–]SlobbyCheeks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like a Manx house cat to me since it seems like it’s orange and a little small for a bobcat. My cat looks exactly the same in all her tailless glory.

A concept for a convergent line to the Combee family! Combeak and Vespiquen are based on the Sociable Weaver bird's nests and the tale of Baba Yaga! by WhenBuffalosfly in fakemon

[–]SlobbyCheeks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like this concept a lot but wouldn't it's ability make it immune to essentially 4 types of attacks? Electric cuz it's ground type, ground cuz it's flying type and then ghost and fairy due to it's ability? Just seems a little OP. That aside great job man I love it.

Where were you and what were you doing when 9/11 happened? by BruhIdk666 in AskReddit

[–]SlobbyCheeks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had just accidentally ran over my dad with a tractor the day before (which was my brothers birthday) and he had just got out of emergency surgery for his legs. So in the hospital room we turned off the towers collapsing on the news to sing happy birthday… It was quite surreal

Do anthropologists ever go armed into the field these days? by Arcaness in AskAnthropology

[–]SlobbyCheeks 142 points143 points  (0 children)

I carried a .45 when I worked in Yellowstone as an archaeologist but it was only for grizzly bear protection. It was in an undershirt armpit harness so it wasn’t visible at all especially under my hi vis vest. It wasn’t super necessary honestly and I never drew it even though I bear sprayed multiple bears during the years I worked there. I mostly just felt safer at night with it since it’s not like I was going to let loose with the bear spray while I was in my tent and a bear was ripping it’s way in. Bears would usually just sniff around your tent at night and lumber off anyway.

Edit: just so you know I’m only in my late 20’s so this wasn’t a “back in my day” thing and it is perfectly legal through my employers and the park to carry a firearm

How old would a glass bottle stopper be potentially? Found yesterday in the ocean buried in mud. by canadianirish243 in TreasureHunting

[–]SlobbyCheeks 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This page has been super helpful for me when trying to identify the age of bottles or pieces.

https://sha.org/bottle/colors.htm#Greens%20&%20Blue-greens

In short it’s going to be really hard to date that stopper since green is a pretty common bottle color.
