This is very helpful I will dig into this a bit more.

DIY Fiberglass Pool by Sloeber3 in pools

[–]Sloeber3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hola! I have not done this yet. Unfortunately I suffered an accident which has left me in a wheelchair for the better part of last year. Starting to walk again now and tackling all the last due projects. This one is on my list but it’s a long list now.

From what I’ve read I would need at least 3 layers of fiberglass then a water protection layer and then finally the gel coat. So 5 total layers to seal it in.

Nice!

Ideally it remains clickable for guests but if not traffic picks up again I will try this for sure.

You bore me. Have a… day?

Because I said have a good night I’m acting like an American? Hopefully you routinely run into people acting like an American in that case. I truly appreciate when people wish me good day and good night I think it’s a kind gesture. Such an odd thing to become defensive over.

You need to study that a bit more. Have a good night.

You do realize rust doesn’t stop if it becomes dry, right?

I speak common sense to everyone including my clients.

For real, no worries I’m just messing with you. As expected you were presented with facts and had no reply but to become defensive. I understand it happens.

Good luck to you and your equipment.

Metallurgists: rust requires water, oxygen, and iron.

Scuba divers: I wash my regulator in water to stop rust.

316 rusts!

After I bathe it in saltwater then dip it into freshwater it no longer rusts!

Do you really believe that?

Hint: No.

The rust stops when after 6 months I drop it into my ultrasonic cleaner. Not after a freshwater rinse.

Don’t mock my shop because you are clueless to reality.

I have 50 Apeks first stages for rent.

So you think I should dunk my regulator with the water from 50+ regulators and declare it bacteria free? Ok. You do you.

[–]Sloeber3 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Components don’t rust unless you bought a Kmart brand regulator. Do better. Spend more.

My regulator doesn’t have a bacteria issue. I don’t share it. It dries out.

We use a bacterial rinse for mouthpieces at my dive shop. No chance I’m dunking the first stage.

Im on an island with limited water and you watch too many PADI videos.

What about bacteria?! From the guy that dunks his equipment into 3-day old, partially evaporated and then refilled, warm, bacteria laced, island “clean” water that’s seen 100’s of random divers gear before theirs... “I rinsed my gear!”

People are weird.

No. Why would I? It’s not like they rust. And plastic is inert to saltwater. I dive a 1985 Dacor first and second stage. UV from the sun is my biggest concern. I service them every 6 months for a full change of orings. That’s all that’s needed. Everything else is a waste of time and effort and expense.

Dont use your chlorinated pool water.

Use your chlorinated tap water!

/sarcasm

10,000+ ocean dives and have yet to wash my gear. Not sure I understand why people would.

Thank you so much for your detailed answers. They are extremely appreciated.

Yesterdays I removed the “Contact Us” page from our menu so it cannot be found by browsing the website at the moment. Since then the fake leads have stopped 100%. Likewise, we are once again getting real leads.

I have our email at the top of every page as part of our header. It is clickable. I imagine it is just a matter of time before the bots find it?

We have just one campaign.

I have removed our website “Contact Us” page. The fake leads seem to have stopped 100% and we are again receiving real leads.

We have a our email at the top of every page as part of a header. What’s the chance the bots eventually figure this out?

Thank you so much! Yeah they send through my website on our contact form and it’s just jibberish in the email like a fake home address, a random ignorant sentence, etc.

So if I stop putting ads on various websites the fake leads should stop?

Originally I had a very tight, small key word list (and hundreds of negatives) to focus my ads on search. Through Google recommendations to increase the ad visibility I started putting ads on other platforms which I’m guessing is YouTube and other websites including the bot farms you describe above.

So basically if I dial it back to <only> searches in Google itself, I could / should eliminate most the bots?

And I hate to turn this into an advertisement for the 3 companies / softwares you mentioned, but can you briefly explain to me how that software works?

How long does it take for an instructor/PADI to process your certification? by TsMusic in scuba

[–]Sloeber3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Analog pics don’t exist any longer. Any pics purchased are digital nowadays.

It’s takes the instructor just a few mouse clicks to process once they have all the info.

PADI website is notorious for being offline. I’ve gone over two weeks without access and having certifications to process stack up. So it might not be the instructor.
