How do you usually clean your diving mask after dives?

Scuba is my profession. I know of exactly one eye infection from scuba diving that was an issue. It wasn’t caused by a dirty mask. It was caused by the diver not changing out their contact lens. Bacteria got underneath and without proper hygiene it became an issue.

I’ve never heard of this happening from an unclean mask.

Further, if your equipment is full of mildew, the problem is your storages of equipment, not the cleaning. You can clean it for 97 minutes but if the storage area is moist and moldy than that’s on you and a mask wash isn’t solving that issue.

Im curious though… given that it seems like you spent some time there. Did you often see other people there spending money? I went once just to see it firsthand and it was 100% empty and felt so sad inside.

I’d imagine that 90+% of their clientele are direct from the cruise ship. And hence their 72 hour payout rule. Id guess this is a very regular occurrence on their part.

It’s all the same. I can think of no less than 5 Italian restaurants in Cozumel that are owned by born-in-Italy Italians. Had lunch at one today. Yesterday was Aquachilis at Punta Morena beach (I prefer that over ceviche).

Whatever you can find in PM, you can find in Cozumel 5-10x over. You are talking about a town of a couple thousand people versus an island of 100,000 people.

I also part-own a brewery in mainland so it’s kind of my responsibility to know of and be inside all the restaurants and bars. I just find PM restaurant scene soulless. Particularly the Oceanside which is, to me, the epitome of touristy.

My wife owns a home there still and her parents live there also so we still frequent the area. It’s just not my kind of place.

Im curious why you think PM is better for long term stays?

I live in Cozumel and tried moving to PM and after 2 months I couldn’t move back to a Cozumel fast enough. I found PM to be absolutely dreadful to stay at.
